You finished putting up this final poster at the front of the school. You weren't the only one with that idea, as multiple posters hung up nearby displayed similar messages, calling for dancers, assistants, singers, etc. You stepped back and looked at the poster. It was simple compared to other posters people set up, but you were proud of yourself anyway.

Leaving the poster behind, you turned around and started heading to classes. Now all you had to do was wait.

The day passed as usual, getting small talk from your friends, going through classes, etc and so forth. Nothing really happened until the last bell rang.

You stood at the front of the school, waiting for your mom to pick you up. It was the Tuesday before tryouts. You looked back into the school to see multiple people poring over the many posters people set up, asking for people. Some pulled out their phones, putting in a number before pressing it against their ear.

You turned your attention to the road in front of the school, just as your phone buzzed in your pocket. You fished it out, looking at the notification.

Unknown number:
Hello?

You pulled up your keyboard before typing a response.

Hello

You waited a moment, soon seeing the ••• symbol appear, shortly followed by a response.

Hi, I believe you put up a poster at the front of the school?

Yes I did

Great. What's the information on it?

The song will be Shatter Me by Lindsey Stirling. Heard of it?

Yeah, I know that song

Great. I'll be playing the music, and I need someone to sing the lyrics.

Alright. I can do that

Great! Can I ask your name?

You watched as the reply came. There was about a 20 second wait for it, though. It was slow, but it came through.

It's Katelyn. What about you?

Y/n

Great. Now, can you explain something to me?

You grew nervous at this, but steadied yourself as you tapped the screen, typing your response.

Yeah, what is it?

Why did you ask for people to text you, instead of calling? My best guess is you don't talk, because of the part on knowing sign language, or Morse code.

You breathed out a sigh of relief. You don't know what you expected, but it could've been worse.

Yeah, I'm mute. Is there an issue with that?
