"Well, it's great to see that everyone made it." Travis spoke, standing up. You looked around, taking a head count. You, Travis, Aphmau, Kawaii~Chan, Katelyn. You blinked a few times. Other than the surprisingly small amount of people, the only guy that Travis invited was you.
"Alright, today, we're just gonna hang out, make sure all our stuff for the following days are ready, and play games!" Travis spoke, excited. You weren't sure what he was planning at, but it worried you.
The initial ideas for some games Travis came up with was worrying. Traditional teenage party games, like spin the bottle and SMIH, they worried you. But luckily, those suggestions ended with one lady not being happy and accusing Travis of doing this whole thing for perverted reasons. Thank Irene Katelyn actually knew you, or she might've done the same to you.
Right now, you and Aphmau were playing chess while Katelyn beat up Travis, who was trying to come up with games.
"Okay, Okay! I give! Let's just play... Truth or-"
Whack
"Okay! Not that!"
You moved a knight, in a position where both Aphmau's king and queen were in danger. She tried to move the queen first, but spotted the danger. Sighing, she moved the king, letting you capture the queen.
"Katelyn! Stop! Please! It hurts!" You looked at the two, who were fighting while Kawaii~Chan sat down.
"Why don't we play Hide and Seek? After that, we can play video games or board games?" Katelyn looked to Kawaii~Chan, before looking at a battered Travis once more.
"That works." Katelyn sat on a chair, taking out her phone. Travis stood up again.
"Freedom!" He regained his bearings.
"Alright, we'll start with Hide and Seek!" He started. Aphmau turned around.
"Play a few rounds without us, we need to finish this game first." After a bit of shuffling, the game started, and Travis was searching for Katelyn and Kawaii~Chan while you and Aphmau played chess. The game was pretty even, could go both ways.
Aphmau moved a Bishop, so that you'd king was in check.
"Check." You castled. Aphmau groaned as she moved her bishop back. You continued an advance with your knight, capturing a rook. Aphmau countered by capturing a pawn with another rook, letting you capture the rook with a waiting Bishop.
The chess game was slowly turning in your favor, as Travis searched for the two girls that were hiding. It wasn't hard to find them, he just wasn't looking hard enough.
You captured a Bishop with a rook, putting Aphmau's king in check. You knocked on the table, your way of saying 'check.' Aphmau moved her king, putting you in a struggle of her moving her king up and down, with you following suit with the rook, before she moved a pawn in the way. You smiled as you captured it with your rook, letting her get the rook. She smiled as you shifted your queen a bit, before knocking on the table twice. Checkmate.
Aphmau looked at the playing field, her face slowly dropping.
"No..." she groaned. If her king didn't move, another rook would get it. Up, and a pawn would. Down, a knight, any diagonals would be a Bishop or queen, and the sides would be the rook. Aphmau sighed, collecting the pieces.
"Good game." Aphmau held out a hand, which you shook, helping her clean up.
Travis had found Katelyn by now, and was searching for Kawaii~Chan. You and Aphmau simply watched as he searched.
