"I am so sorry, I completely forgot." Luis said through the phone.

"Who forgets to bake 800 cookies?! Forgot or didn't want to? You never fix your priorities straight." I said.

"It's my calender, I must've forgotten to put it in." He said.

"Listen, don't call back. I have to fix your mess that you keep making." I hung up and called James and Eddy to meet me at Shop Rite.

"Okay, flour, where's the flour?!" James rushed aisle to aisle, till he found it. "How many do we need?" He asked.

"It's 800 cupcakes, I don't know?!" I picked around five in my hand, same with James.

"I got frosting! We've got vanilla, chocolate, strawberry." Eddy dumped them in the shopping cart.

"Eggs? And we need cupcake trays!" I ran to the utility aisle and I got mixing bowls, a hand mixer, twelve trays, and the cupcake wrappers.

"Got them!" I also picked up twelve pounds of sugar. Eddy had the carton of eggs, and James rushed in the quickest line possible. The woman checked the items. Not even halfway it was nearly two hundred.

"I don't have that much money." I said to James. We thought for a second before James made a move.

"Here." He pushed me out the way and swiped his card. He punched his pin in, and grabbed the receipt. We loaded the groceries, lightning speed.

When we got home, we went to work. I preheated the oven, and we started cracking eggs, adding flour, mixing the mixture together. "You poured too little in that last batch!" We argued.

"Nicole, you couldn't buy more than one hand mixer?" James asked.

"I'm almost done." I said,  as I mixed. Then there was a loud churning sound, and then the metal whisks stopped altogether. "I think it broke." I said, banging it and turning it on.

"What are we gonna do? We can't have lumpy cupcakes." Eddy said. James did the most crazy thing. He grabbed the blender. "Dump in the mix." He demanded.

"What no!" I exclaimed. He grabbed the bowl and put my cake mix in the blender. Covering it, he turned it on. The blender grind all the mixture, miraculously.

"I can't believe that actually worked!" I exclaimed.

"Me neither." I heard him say. I couldn't help but laugh. "Less talking, more working." James replied. His shirt was full of flour, chocolate, and raw egg. I had to smile. "What the hell are you smiling at? C'mon, those cupcakes need frosting." He pointed at a fresh batch that Eddy had pulled out of the oven.
I spread vanilla frosting on the naked cupcakes, decorating them carefully.

"We only have two hours and we gotta make four hundred still." I calculated.

"Nicole, shut up." Eddy said as he poured the mix in the trays and popped them in the tray. I opened the hot oven, the heat coughing in my face.

"Eddy, this oven has alot of oil." I placed the tray in the 400 degree and closed it.

"Remind me and I'll clean it out." Eddy cracked two eggs. I whisked flour and water together.

"I can not believe Luis agreed to do this, and we're doing it for him." I ranted.

"Hey, you're getting married to him. You should be ready to help him when he messes up. And that's how he is, he will never change." James said.

"So I heard, I mean he's missing my graduation." I sighed, adding vanilla.

"He hasn't had a responsibility to know when to cancel." Eddy said as he turned on the blender.
