To start the year

"Everyone is saying that the world is flat. Ah pui! Those ignorants don't know anything about modern knowledge and blah blah blah..." The shopkeeper rants on and on.

"....." The only flat thing I know is my plains.

Alicia bends down her head.

Even villainess-sama is flat.

She sighed.

"Look uh... mister. I really don't want to buy anything." Alicia tells him straight to the face.

"Is that so?..." The shopkeeper droops his shoulders. He looks like an deflated balloon at the moment.

"Then I'll be on my way." Alicia turns to exit but was stopped by the shopkeeper.

"Young lady, before you leave, let me show you something!" The shopkeeper cries out.

"Eh what?"

But before Alicia could further question him, she was dragged to a nearby bookshelf.

The shopkeeper pressed some certain mechanics. The shop's sign immediately switched from "welcome, we're open" to "sorry, we're close". It didn't take long before a "ting" sound was heard from the bookshelf.

"What in the..." Alicia was about to react but she was shush by the shopkeeper.

"Ssshhh...." said the shopkeeper.

"....." What's with all the secrecy? You're making it look like something shady.

A crystal ball appeared from the compartment. Beside it were other trinkets and ornaments, but the peculiar round object stood out from the rest.

The shopkeeper takes the crystal ball and presents it to his customer.

"Young lady, this orb has the power to foretell the future. Just place your hand on it and you will get a glimpse of your destiny!" The shopkeeper said.

"I knew it!"

Alicia reluctantly held out her hand. Should she or should she not? I mean she already knows what's gonna happen.

"Go on. We offer a free trial for first timers." The shopkeeper encouraged her.

"Seriously?..."

But Alicia places her hand anyways.

The orb shined with a bright light the moment Alicia's hand made contact with its surface.

She shielded her eyes with her other hand but the light didn't last longer than two seconds before going poof.

Alicia: "...."

Shopkeeper: "....."

Was that suppose to happen? She swear she saw the shopkeeper face turn from excitement to disappointment within those two seconds.

"Well?" Alicia asked.

"That um..." The shopkeeper was hesitant to speak.

"Just tell me what you saw." Alicia urges him to finish.

The orb was supposed to foretell a wonderful future. It was suppose to reveal a beautiful destiny. But this girl... she has no future to be seen! Er what this shopkeeper meant is that he saw her destruction end.

"... the young lady's future is quite... bleak." He continued.

Alicia snorts.

Is that surprising? She already knows her future. Duh? She did finish the Doki guru queen of hearts afterall.
