The remains of the magus pier could be seen resting on the floor. The dust looked nothing like the pillar that once stood.

Achoo!

Alicia sneezed from the particles that got into her nose. Once she did, the pile of powder scattered across the room and was eventually sucked away by the air ventilator leaving nothing behind.

Alicia: "........" I didn't mean to do that!

Kai: "........" Nice going otaku. You successfully erased all traces of evidence!

He gives her a thumbs up. Alicia eyes were twitching at his open display of support.

"Ahem..." the moderator finally snapped out of his trance and spoke.

"Well uh... this is the first..." he doesn't know what to say and mumbled to himself.

"I think he's asking you to pay..." Alicia whispered to Kai while nudging her elbow at him.

"Why am I the one paying? I was only having my aptitude taken..." Kai whispered back and nudged his elbow at the same time.

"You destroyed the magus pier!..." Alicia nudged her elbow harder.

"So? You blew the remains away. Now there's nothing left!..." Kai retaliates with force.

"You!..."

"No you!..."

"I'll go talk to the department head. Please wait moment." The moderator hurriedly left the room while the two continued bickering.

The moderator eventually returned alongside with the department head of magic. He was an old man probably in his fifties or sixties, seventies at most. He looked like your typical wise wizard wearing a funny hat and shabby grey robe. Don't forget the staff. The old man was carrying a staff along with him.
When they entered the room, the department head was shocked to really see it devoid of the magic pillar.

"How could it be?!" The old man thought and caught sight of Alicia.

"So you say that it was because of this child here hmm?..." he walks over to her while stroking his white beard.

"What the cheesecake?!"

"Ah no. That's the wrong person Sir Ganfrey. It's this boy ever here." The moderator motions to Kai's direction.

"Oh hoh~ no wonder I sensed a great deal of magic coming from the lad." The old wizard Ganfrey laughs and walks over to Kai as if he never inspected Alicia in the first place.

"The what?! Hey this old wizard must be colorblind!"

The old wizard appraised Kai for a moment then nodded to agree with his thoughts.

"Definitely an abundant amount of magic..." He said.

"Then what shall we do?" The moderator asked.

"Is that a question? Have the lad admitted right away. We'll place him under the tutelage of the best masters." Ganfrey immediately replied with enthusiasm.

"I understand. Then what about the..." the moderator glanced at the empty part of the room. That was his question all along.

"Hoh, the magus pier..." Ganfrey thinks for a moment before finally looking at Alicia.

"Young lady, you seem to be well off..." Ganfrey casually stated.

Alicia flinched from being stared at.
"You don't say?..." she awkwardly tries to laugh it off while internally screaming, "Somebody help me!!"
