Elizabeth's P.O.V
Elizabeth woke up with a bang, litterally. A loud explosion echoed through the halls, jolting her awake. "What the...?" She muttered, almost falling out of the bed. Hearing all the chaos Elizabeth hurried to the west wing of the palace, suspecting the reason of the break in was for the treasure room, but she hadn't expected this. Looking around at the piles of untouched treasure, she noticed one thing missing. "For the love of Poseidon! The tridents' been stolen!"
Her thoughts were clouded and muddy as she raced to the her father's bedchamber.
"Your majesty!" She yelled, swimming into the room filled with guards ready to defend the king.
"Yes Elizabeth, what is it?" The king ask, a worried expression on his face.
"The trident! It's been stolen!" Elizabeth said breathlessly.
"WHAT!" The king bellowed, "WHO WOULD DARE!"
She flinched at the outburst before straightening. "Your majesty, please let me go after it, Poseidon is one of my direct ancestors, you know how much this means to me."
The king sighed, shaking his head. "Elizabeth, you're not only the best fighter Atlantis has, but you're also my daughter, I cant let you do this."
She tried not to roll her eyes. "Adopted daughter, and this means so much to me! I cant just sit around and do nothing while the trident is missing!" Elizabeth was starting to get frustrated.
"Elizabeth! You're not going and that's final!" The king shouted, but she stood her ground.
"You know I'm going to go after it with or without your permission, you can't stop me, neither can your guards. Remember what you said before, I'm the best fighter here, I can do this." she played with the hilt of her dagger that was in its sheath on her holster.
"Fine, but dont get yourself killed," the king sighed, seeming exhausted.
"I'll be back soon, and not empty handed!" Elizabeth chirped, flying out of the room and to the armory.
"...Let me see... I'll need this" she said, plucking some first aid supplies from a shelf, "this," she grabbed food, putting it into her traveling pouch, "and this," she then grabbed an actual sword. Slipping it into the sheath across her back, she swam out of the castle and into the unknown.
At least a guard got a look at their tail, which is something I can use to identify them, she thought before beginning to track the mystery merfolk.
Following the merperson who had stolen the trident wasnt easy, but Elizabeth eventually tracked them to the Pearl Pub."This is a serious Merperson..." She muttered, as the pub was notoriously known for illegal trades. Elizabeth entered hesitantly.
"Excuse me, has anyone with a blue, black, and white tail come in here recently?" She asked the bartender, swimming to a hault in front of the glass littered counter..
"Maybe," said the man covered in tattoos, his voice like stone on stone, " If Kai was here what would it mean to you?"
"I have a trade to make with him" Elizabeth simply replied, trying to seem disinterested, hoping her lie would hold .
"The pretty lady actually has somethin Kai wants, eh?" The man...grinned? "He's in the back room, number 4" he said.
Mentally cheering herself, she confidently swam back, immediately finding the room. The door was ajar, graffiti scattered across the walls. The place made her nose wrinkle with disgust. "Hello" she greeted as she swam in, finally getting a good look at the merman that lounged in a confident manner in the cold water.
Kai was his name?
She observed all of his features, saving them to memory. He was comprised of hard angles and messy dark hair. He looked, honestly, crazy, it was either just the way he looked, or just the grin he wore, Elizabeth couldn't be sure though.
Kai looked up at her greeting. His eyes were blank, but his lips turned into a frown. "I think you've found the wrong room, darling." His head tilted to the side, examining Elizabeth like a puppy might. His eyes caught on the sword on her back and he glanced back to her face. "You look a little too nice to be around here, but I think that sword could get you something," his voice was low and soothing like pure honey, but it an air of criminality.
"No, I think not...Kai" she said his name through gritted teeth, failing to mask her emotion. "And the only thing I'm going to use my sword for is slitting my enemies throats, so DONT get on my bad side," she smiled a little, deciding to play around with her task for a little while, before getting to her point.
Kai grinned at her snappy response. "Oh~ pretty lady has some sass~" he said, leaning his head in his hand. "I guess I won't get on your bad side then," he said, biting his lip."So~what happens to bring you here, darling, if you aren't here to trade?" Kai asked.

Hey, Skippy here again... I really need to let Gizmo do somethin other than editing... If you can't tell, this is the same events, just in Elizabeth's view. If there are name mix ups, we originally used different names, so that's why.
Goodbye and farewell

She really does but then again, I don't trust her to edit
