The Place I Called Home

there was a time

a time so sacred

where I was not afraid

of the secrets hidden behind teardrops and closed doors

there was a time

when I longed for time to stay still

because I never wanted to let go

And I still can't let go

because now, the only time that ticks around me

are the haunting memories

Yes, I enjoyed the pain

because the sadness was inevitable

I became accustomed to the endless days and the rising sun

So here I am again,

in a different place

a different time

and I will never go back to the place I called home

because in my eyes,

home doesn't exist.

Not anymore.
