I sat in my lonely college dorm, growing frustrated at the work that seemed impossible to comprehend. No matter how much, I reread, googled or studied, it seemed like the answers were not meant for me to know. I was always the smart kid academically in school but college seems to be a whole other ball game.
"Ugh!" I screamed, taking off my glasses and slamming by huge book closed. I ran my fingers through my fluffy hair, tugging on it out of aggravation. I pushed the heavy books off the edge of the bed and laid flat on my back. I did this to try and calm all my nerves, cause at this point I was getting a headache. I deeply exhaled and closed my eyes, beginning to dose off.
I was interrupted by the ringtone of my Iphone, the blinking flash notification, immediately blinded my now awake eyes. My phone read "❤️" I across the screen.
A smiled unnoticeably appeared on my face, I answered the FaceTime call, and there appeared my man.
"Hey baby" his deep voice filled the room.
Keith was my boyfriend, we've been dating for a little over a year now. We met when I was a highschool senior and he was a college freshman, now I'm a college freshman and he's a sophomore.
"Hi Keith" I took a deep breath, lightly smiling. Keith could probably tell something was up with me, his face scrunched in confusion or curiosity.
"Baby what's wrong?"
"Uh nothing I'm just tired" I began rubbing my head again.
"You sure babe? Are you on your period? You need some food?" He said in a joking tone
"Oh my god, Keith" I rolled my eyes at how ignorant he sounded.
"Why do you always assume I'm on my period," i said.
"My bad baby, but really what's wrong, I know you not just tired," he was right, I was more than sleep deprived, he seen right through me.
I ran my fingers through my hair again, and took a deep breath. "It's this college shit....it's taking a toll on me. I've been studying this book for like 2hours and I don't even remember what I read."
