"I love you (Y/N)," She chocked out before pulling you into one last kiss. Her hand fell off of your cheek and You desperately kept kissing her. You let out a blood curtailing scream, a ring of magic produced from your body, killing every enemy on the ship. You sobbed clutching her body to your chest. What you didn't notice was the markings on your cheeks fading to a dull grey, the shine in your hair going away, and the spark in your eyes fading. You stuck your white helmet back on.
"What was that?" You heard Keith ask.
"Who screamed?" Hunk worried.
"Why haven't (Y/N) or Pidge said anything?" Shiro asked.
"Are you guys all right?" Lance asked.
"N-no," You responded, sniffling. "I'll tell you once we get back to the castle." You picked up her body and made your way to where to two of you had parked your lions, You sent a mental message to your lion to go to the castle without you.
You entered the green lion and placed Pidge in the little glass chamber that had appeared once you walked in. "I know I'm not Pidge, and God I know she should be here but will you let me pilot you?" You asked the lion as you sat in the pilot's chair. The lion roared and the green screens appeared.
When you said your last goodbye
I died a little bit inside
I lay in tears in bed all night
Alone without you by my side
You walked out on the lion, carrying your deceased lover. You hear the Green Lion roar and thudding feet coming your way. You looked up and saw the other paladins frozen at the entryway. "I'm sorry," You mumbled placing her on the ground, and leaving the hanger.
You trudged to your room and collapsed on your bed in a mess of tears. You felt an immense pain in your chest, you let out a cry of pain and fell back onto your bed curling into the fetal position. You were dying, you knew it.
~Flashback~
You fell out of the sleeping pod, yelling: "Dad!" You fell to the ground with a thud. You heard someone gasp and rush over. You pushed yourself up, looking at the approaching figure. "Allura?" You asked confusion contorting your face.
"(Y/N)! You're alive!!" She exclaimed pulling you into a hug.
"What happened?!" You asked, panic making its way onto your face.
"(Y/N), it's been 10,000 years, all the alteans are dead, You, me, and Coran are the only ones left." She explained slowly.
"Oh," You said sadly. "Ok." She got up and walked to a control panel.
"Paladins to the control room! I have a surprise!" She cheered, the announcement booming all throughout the castle. You heard feet pounding in the hallways and the doors open, You turned around to face the people. You saw Coran, You rushed forward and enveloped him in a hug, silent tears pooling down your face. "Paladins this, is my little sister." Allura addressed, as you pulled away from Coran.
"Nice to meet you!" You smiled. You looked at all the paladins in turn, once you got to the green one something happened, the markings on your cheeks lit up. "Allura?! What's happening??!!" You screamed.
"Do not worry, You have just found your soulmate. Only the royal family can do this, and even so, it's pretty rare." Coran explained.
The small female let out a chuckle. "Guess we're soulmates. My name's Pidge." She said holding out her hand. You took it giving it a shake.
