"His brother went from a straight D student to a freshman at Harvard!" Michael exclaimed. He was lying, that's not what happened. "You wanna know where he is now?" She, he corrected himself.
"Really happy and successful?" Jeremy guessed, Michael almost laughed.
"He's in a mental hospital," Michael stated, almost breaking down in tears. "Totally lost it." Not really.
"Alright, I don't see what that has to do with my-" Jeremy started.
"Think man!" Michel yelled, "We're talking an insanely powerful supercomputer! You think its primary function is to get you laid?!" She used it to make her home better. "Who made them?! How did they end up in a high school?! In New Jersey!! Of all possible applications for such a mind-blowingly advanced technology- you ever wonder what it's doing inside you?" Michael asked. She didn't know the consequences, She did know.
Jeremy scoffed, "I thought Chloe was jealous." He rolled his eyes.
"I'm honestly asking!" Michael persisted. She wouldn't want this.
"Oh really?" Jeremy shot back.
"Yeah," Michael confirmed.
"I think you're just passed that I have one and you don't," Jeremy concluded. Michael practically rolled his eyes. She had one, she's gone now. Why would I want one?
"Come on," he scoffed.
"And, maybe I got lucky, alright." Jeremy continued. "Is that so weird?! I mean with my history... I would say the universe owed me more. And look, I don't know about your friend's, brother's, whatever-," my girlfriend, "Man if you're telling me that the Squip made him crazy-"
Michael cut him off, "the Squip didn't make him crazy-"
"Well then, there you go!" Jeremy yelled. Micheal grabbed his friends shirt, crying.
"She went crazy trying to get it out!!" He yelled. Night after night of electric shocks and pain-filled screams.
"Well... Then I've got nothing to worry about- why would I want that?" Jeremy concluded, pushing his crying friend off him. Michael blocked the door. "Come on, man. Move it!"
Micheal let out a little chuckle, "or you'll what?" He can't end up like her.
"Get out of my way," Jeremy demanded, "Loser." Michael was shocked and hurt. He let Jeremy through, his only friend, maybe not even that anymore. He said down the wall, glasses fogging up from all the tears.
Someone knocked on the door, "open up!!" She yelled.
The only excuses Michael could think of was the one he and she had come up with. "I'm on my period!!"
"Take your time honey," The person said softly, her head the footsteps retreating.
Time Skip
"Hey, Michael," Jeremy rasped out.
"Hiya, Jeremy," Michael whispered back, handing his friend a glass of water. "How are you feeling?"
"Like crap," Jeremy laughed, "where's my dad?"
"He went to go get coffee and talk to the nice nurse. " Michael explained winking at his best friend. Jeremy just made a face.
"Ugh, don't make me picture it." Jeremy replied, "So, I never said sorry. Or thanks. So thanks Michael, and I'm sorry for how I treated you."
"Its no problem, we know the cure now, I have plenty Mountain Dew Red left of this ever happens again, which it shouldn't." Michael cheered.
