KYLE

Studying... learning.... analyzing.... He was the first. He was the best.... The best. That's what Daniel Reez said. Kyle Anderson was the best.

So that's what he did. He became the best. He scanned the area, looking for Prof. Jefferson. He could tell that the old man did not trust him, despite Daniel's endless attempts to convince the old man that Kyle was the best.

The best. He is the best.

Once he spotted Jefferson, he walked towards him, stuffing his pockets with his hands. He saw the impressed look Amanda Kyle gave him when he helped her and stuffed his hands in his pockets like this.

Jefferson huffed in annoyance when he approached the guy.
"You done?"

Kyle rolled his eyes, exactly how Jerry, the waiter guy did before he taught Kyle how to open a coke can.

"Yeah. Can we go now?"

Jefferson visibly relaxed. "About time. Let's go."
The ride to his apartment was silent. Jefferson was mad for unkown reason, and Kyle had better things to think of.

Like that girl's face when she was talking to the clawn. He understood the emotion as fear, but this was the first time he saw it has expressed that well in a face.
Daniel was right. This is a good place to learn human ways.
What he couldn't understand was why. Fear weakened people. The girl clearly had problems with breathing after the clawn incident. Why does it exist when it is a clear threat to a species? Good thing that he doesn't feel fear, or any emotion in that case.

"Guys, welcome the new kid, Mr. Anderson."
The lack of enthusiasm was evident in Jefferson's voice.

"Mr. Anderson, sit next to Miss Kyle, who is your partner for the rest of the semester."
Kyle smiled at Amanda, who was a bit over-excited, and walked towards her.
She shot him a radiant smile, and looked at now rambling Prof. Jefferson.

"So, you're the infamous nephew of Prof. Jefferson, right?." She smiled sweetly.
Kyle looked at her. "Infamous?"

Amanda nodded. "Yeah. He talks about you alot. Mostly when he wants to prove someone is not brainy enough to do this course. Kyle this, Kyle that.. so... yup. You are pretty much hated here."
She looked uncomfortable under his uneven stare, and he turned towards Jefferson.

That's when he noticed her. The girl from the party. She was sitting right infront of him. And from what he could see, she was drawing a doodle in her book. A clawn.
