Ashley took a deep breath. She knew that the coldness of her hands confused Walker, who was polite enough to let it slip. He introduced her as one of his friends, to the old lady who welcomed her with a firm nod. Then he was off for entertaining the kids at the party, which she invited herself along with Walker, for the sake of her sanity.
She was starting to act normal towards the clown version of Walker, who helped her a lot throughout the previous week. She was almost sure that she would be able to overcome the fear of clawns this way. She just have to test with another clawn after awhile. She will be okay.
That's when she saw the new kid. Anderson. Prof. Jefferson's nephew. He was approaching her, with a flashy smile.
"Ashley Kent, isn't it?" She was surprised to say at least.
"Yeah, and you are Kyle Anderson. Prof. Jefferson's...."
"Nephew, yes." His smile was still there, but something was off. His smile was... steely. She shrugged it off. After all, she has some serious issues that she obviously needed help with. Who was she to judge other people over a smile?Kyle was looking rather intently at her face, which made her uncomfortable. Oh no. She chidded herself mentally. Don't go hype. Don't go hype. She smiled faintly at Kyle, thinking of an escape plan. She was looking around the room frantically for some familiar face, but found none.
That's when the screams started.
