Chapter 5:  Lack of "luck o' the Irish"

*Harry's POV*

It was the evening after the LLN concert/fiasco and the girls had arrived.  I could see the boys rushing out to meet them even though it was pouring rain.  I watched them drag their wheely suitcases into our house from my bedroom window.  I would have helped, but I was too busy mentally kicking my own ass.  I still hadn't figured out how I had messed things up, but it was undeniable that I had.  I think my right ear is still ringing form Ollie's yelling.  Why don't I think shit through before I act? Idiot.  IDIOT.  IDIOT!

Our impromtu duet was everywhere.  Magazines, news programs, and all internet media had gotten a hold of it and were causing a right shit storm.  Whenever I'm seen with a member of the opposite sex, rumors start to circulate.  Of course no one ever got it right... except for this one article.  It was called "Crushed In Styles".

Lame article.

The journalist probably thought they were being cute talking about how I was crushing on Olivia, made my feelings known in "Styles" (I HATE it when they make puns off of my name), but was then crushed myself when we were later heard having an "explosive argument".

Stupid article.  *Hmph*  Stupid Harry.  How do they even find this shit out?

I figured I'd go on twitter and get me some fangirl love to cheer myself up.  All those "follow me Harry" requests, "father my children!", and smily winky faces were just what I needed.

It WAS making me feel better until I found a weird message.

@Harry_Styles BACK OFF.  OLLIE IS MINE.  GO FUCK OFF AND DIE.  YOU SHOULDNT EVEN SHARE THE SAME AIR AS HER.

All caps.  Huh.  Intense.  So this is what girls I've dated experience... granted on a much larger scale, but still... it sucked.  Simple but effective at making me feel less than human.  It was also majorly creepy.  I had the sudden urge to look over my shoulder, check under my bed, and make sure no one was hiding in my closet.

"Put your man pants back on, Haz.  Don't be such a pussy,"  I chuckled at myself.

I heard thumping and laughter outside outside my room.  Time to face the music and get out there.

*Niall's POV*

Sam was bossy.  She was their manager and had to take control of the situation, but she could have been friendlier.  She had gathered us in the entryway to organize living arrangements.  Right now Louis was standing behind her pulling faces.  When he started mimmicing her, it was so spot on that I almost choked on my own tongue trying not to laugh.

"So.  5 rooms.  5 boys.  3 girls.  No funny business."  Sam paused for dramatic effect.  She sounded like a game show host.  I should know because I do a great impression of Peter Dixon.  "Since this is an excercize in band bonding, girls will NOT be sharing a room."  Everyone looked shocked.  Who lets a bunch of guys and girls our age bunk together with all our crazy intense hormones raging?  Kinky.  This was bound to cause problems, but it made my heart pound excitedly all the same. "I know from research that Louis and Liam have long-term girlfriends so-" but Liam quickly interrupted.

"Actually, I don't have a girlfriend.  Not anymore at least.  Danielle dumped me."

Poor bastard.  It'd happened 2 months ago and this was the first time I'd really heard him admit to the breakup out loud.  He still hadn't told the media because I think he was trying to convince himself it wasn't real.  The only reason me and the lads knew about it was because Lou had overheard the whole messy conversation.  Liam had been moping around since it happened.  These past three days he had been acting more like his usual self though.

"And I just got with Perrie so no girls in my room.  Perrie would FLIP if I had a girl staying in my room," Zayn said.

"Even if you didn't have a girlfriend, there wouldn't be any space in your room for a girl to stay.  What with all your clothes and hair products Zayn," Harry commented as he came down the stairs.  Everyone found this amusing, well, except for Zayn and Olivia who was still cranky from yesterday.  She just stood there with a permanent sour look on her face while we were told where we would be staying.

"Errr, right.  Well, sorry to hear about that Liam, but we're still left with an even number of single guys and single girls."  The girls are single?  Interesting information.  So that means Charlie isn't seeing anyone.  Please let me be paired with her.  Please.  I'll give up Nando's for a whole month...

"Obviously Harry with Ol.  They need the most work.  Liam with Charlie leaving Holls to stay with Niall," Sam said.

Fuck.  Where was this supposed "luck o' the Irish"?  I guess whatever higher power I had bargained with didn't believe me about no Nando's for a month.  Rightfully so, I guess.  Who was I kidding?  I couldn't live without my peri peri chicken and chips.  "So we're all set here?" Before anyone could answer, Sam continued.  "Good 'cause I've got a meeting I have to attend.  I'll check on everyone later."  Her voice softened and for a second we saw the real Sam.  "Love you girls and good luck."  And with that, she turned on her heels and left.

Silence.

Awkward silence.

I looked around the room.  Louis was just watching Harry... who didn't really look like he knew how to react to his new roommate.  Ollie in turn refused to look at Harry so she was playing with the tips of her hair.  Charlie was grabbing her suitcase and walking over to Liam... who was staring at Holland.  Hmmm.  Zayn was off in his own universe playing on his phone because none of this really pertained to him.  Before I knew it, Holland had come up to me.

"Ready roomie?" she asked smiling.  At least someone seemed happy.  I just nodded weakly.  "Lead the way."
