  June 5th 3 months later

Miranda was now eight months along and the entire household was struggling, not to get the nursery ready, Miranda had told the decorators what she wanted and they had done it. No, that's not what they were struggling to get done. What they were struggling to do was agree on a middle name for Catherine and a first and middle name for the other twin. Miranda and James just could not decide. Nigel even put his two cents in but his ideas were quickly shot down by Miranda, James and Caroline and Cassidy. Miranda had been forced to reduce her work schedule to half a day, and James finally had his security company off the ground and running and was working a full day.

"Miranda, it's two o'clock it's time for you to leave for the day." Nigel said as he walked into her office. "Yes Nigel, I am well aware of this fact, unfortunately my entire staff is completely and utterly incompetent. It would be easier if you still worked here, I could trust you to sort everything out." Miranda said and Nigel chuckled. "Emily is the new me darling, she has done a fabulous job as your art director since I started with MEN'S RUNWAY, she is perfectly capable of handling this herself, she knows your tastes, and if she really has trouble with something I can spare her a minute or two to tell her how to correct the problem. Like it or not Miranda here in just a few weeks you are going to have to give the reins over to her for a couple of months." Upon hearing this Miranda groaned. "God, my magazine will be in shambles by the time I get back, it's not that Emily is incompetent, she is quite the opposite in fact, but the staff isn't scared of her like they are me which will lead to slacking off." Miranda said and rolled her eyes. "No it won't Miranda because you will still have the final say in what goes to print even when you are out of commission, all Emily has to do to get her way is threaten to inform you of their incompetence when they slack off beyond belief and the image of you coming up here with two newborn daughters, and fury in your eyes for having to do so; well that will be more than enough to scare the hell out of them and get them back on track." Nigel said and Miranda chuckled. "Your right, thinking about that makes me crazy, however for a little while when I start coming back part time I will have to bring them with me." Miranda said and Nigel smiled. "During that time Uncle Nigel will have gotten no work done at all because I will be too busy playing with them so when that particular issue of MEN'S RUNWAY hits stands and the sales plummet you should watch out because you will be the one to blame there gorgeous."

Miranda raised her eyebrow "Nigel it will not be my fault that you will have a shorter attention span than a five year old during that time. It will not be my problem that you obviously have no self control, and tales of your incompetence will not interest the board member so I suggest that you start practicing on keeping yourself focused now, go to a gay bar with your work and try not to drool all over your notes for the magazine while watching your handsome waiter bend over to pick up something you supposedly dropped." Miranda said and Nigel stared slack jawed at his friend. Then he started laughing. "You are something else Priestly, I will tell you that, and yes I will admit that what you say is true and as usual I bow to the master." Nigel said and Miranda laughed. "Thank you, now where is that dreadful second assistant of mine?" "New girl" Miranda called softly. "Is she that bad?" Nigel asked. Miranda nodded. "She doesn't even deserve to be called by my first assistant's name, she doesn't have the sense God gave paste and I'm certain she won't last much longer." The assistant came scurrying in. "Yes Miranda" "Get my bag, I'm leaving for the day and when Angela gets back from delivering those changes to Emily tell her she doesn't have to bother with picking up my dry cleaning when she delivers the book tonight, call James Holt and tell him that this selection he has presented me with is vile and I will not accept it, then call Donatella and inform her that our lunch meeting will have to be moved to Friday. Then call that God awful woman and tell her that I will not join forces with her for even one issue, Anna must have completely lost her mind if she thinks I'm going to do that to boost her sales. That's all." Miranda said and the assistant scurried back out. "Now, we shall see how much of that information that air head actually retains." Miranda said and Nigel chuckled. As he followed Miranda out of the office he laughed as he watched her walk with her stomach leading the way. He came over to her and whispered in her ear she she took her bag from her frightened assistant. "My dear your waddling you better be careful." Nigel said and snickered. Miranda turned and glared at him before storming towards the elevator causing Nigel to start to full out laugh.
