To the right are Jacob and Jace. They are that twin scythe I showed you in the first chapter.

(Rebel's P.O.V.)

I yawned deeply looking at my watch. It read 2:13 a.m.; obviously a time too early for any decent human being to be awake. I looked around my new room; and my new roommates. Apparently only tipsy top students get to have their own room. I closed my eyes and relaxed trying to get to sleep again. Nothing seemed to work; not even my trick of keeping my eyes closed and breathing deeply helped. There were just too many people in here to get any decent sleep. I let my mind wonder as I laid in my cot. I closed my eyes again, hoping that I'll be able to get to sleep. Nothing, sleep would just have to be a myth for now. I got up as quietly as I could and grabbed my clothes for the next day. I debated whether to take a shower but decided against it; it would make too much noise. I made my bed and sat on it, pondering what the day would be like.

So far we had just been briefed on certain things; like we had to make our beds, all training would be done with supervision, only the top students get their own bedrooms, only top students get to see the director (unless we get into trouble), no one leaves their rooms at night, and we were given a small schedule. "You will be given this temporary schedule until we decide your power level and rank,"the guard/instructor had said.

I personally didn't like the whole power deciding part; I prefer to keep people guessing on how powerful I am. I looked at my watch and was startled to see that it was 5:35 already. The wake up alarms started blaring, encouraging us to get up and start our day.  No seemed to notice that I was already awake. I shrugged and walked to the door. I held my eye to the scanner, then waiting for it to notify someone that I was ready and hungry.

After I had a nice and quiet breakfast I went to get my training gear on. A huge group of kids walked right by me, chatting really loudly. I cringed and hurried along, forcing my escort to hurry along as well. I went in and got on my training gear. I looked at my watch again and saw that I had about 45 minutes to kill. I went into the bathroom and started  making sure that everything was symetrical. Now I'm not obsessed with being symetrical; it's just that if I am symetrical, I feel balanced. I meditated for a little while and then went to go to the training station.

"Now I want all of you to choose someone to be your weapon. As you can see the people that are weapons are sitting separate from you." We all looked towards the group that had been separated. "These people, if you match soul wavelengths will become your partner, your weapon, and a part of you,"the teacher continued to drone on. "Now go and choose." She shooed us towards them and we all converged.

Not everyone had a match right away. Some took a little bit more effort than others but everyone except me had a weapon. None of the weapons had been able to match my wavelength; I also felt unbalanced with them. The teacher looked at the rest of the class, then at me. "Well since it seems that no one could match Miss Rebel's soul wavelength and there seems to be no more weapons left in the class to match with, we'll just have to see if you can match Jacob's and Jace's soul wavelength." She snapped her fingers and out stepped two boys, looking exactly alike. They must be twins, I thought. They were symetrically alike in almost every aspect. They smirked at each other and walked up to me. They grabbed my arms and changed into weapons. Their souls balanced each other, and therefore I felt balanced; they also seemed happy that I could match their soul power. I looked towards the teacher to ask what was next but she was gone. All that was left was the door opening and shutting quickly.
