The chamber door opened.
Margaret Carnavan raged.

"Insolence! Pray tell servant, why are you talking to her?  You're serving me".

     "Nay, I'm Lady Catherine's servant-not yours".

"MOTHER! IS THIS TRUE!?" Mary yelled, upset.

Lady Catherine glided towards her.

"Be quiet child! Simon is my servant. And, if you yell in the hallway again-Lord Carnavan will take you to the dungeon", she shouted, baring her huge fangs. Mary sulked off, and headed to her chambers, and closed it gently.

"M'Lady, do you need me? I didn't want to disturb you and Lord Carnavan", I said.

"That is what we discussed. Mary's behavior is sadly violent. And she isn't a Lady; she's a girl. And she can't bite anyone. Such blood-letting needs our permission before hand. And, time and time again, she ignores me", Lady Catherine sighed.

"I think M'Lady, you do your best. Mother did her best as well-and Father...", I started.

"You are a young boy, Simon; too young. Now, give me some tea", Lady Catherine commanded.

"M'Lady", I said, but not before I served Lady Gemma Carnavan first.
