I didn't feel like going into detail about the mask rule, so we'll just pretend the rule doesn't exist.

"Another mission?" You asked your best friend, and secret crush, Dohko.

He gave you a small smirk and nodded. "Yea, the Pope said he senses a strange energy coming from a village in Italy, so he wants me to go and check it out."

"I really wish you would let me go with you." You pouted.

Dohko laughed, making you blush. He put his hands on your shoulders as you looked at him. He gave you his ever confident smile. "Don't worry about me so much, (Y/n). I'll be fine, I promise"

You studied his face before giving him a smirk of your own. "Fine, but if you die, I'll kill you."

"Noted." He laughed. He gave your shoulders a final squeeze before turning and waving goodbye to you. You silently prayed to Athena that he would come back safely.

Timeskip

About a month later, Dohko returned and with a plus one. He introduced the young boy as Tenma. He told you about what he had seen the kid do to save his village. You were impressed, it was rare to show so much potential at such a young age, but even you could see that the boy was destined for something great.

A few years passed and you were currently training with Tenma. He was getting pretty good, but missed a few basic steps once in a while. He threw a punch at you but you easily blocked it and tossed him back, considering you were already a saint.

"Not bad, Tenma. But remember, don't leave yourself open." You extended a hand to him.

"Right, thank you (Y/n)." He took your hand and got up. 

"Well, it's getting late. Let's head back to the Libra temple." You two began to walk back. You lived with Dohko for a while, even though you guys weren't together.

"Hey,(Y/n), I've been meaning to ask. By any chance, do you like Dohko?" He gave you a cocky smirk. You blushed and smacked the back of his head. 

"That's none of your business, besides what does it matter. It's not like he has the time or interest to be in a relationship anyway." You said as you walked ahead of him. Tenma smiled to himself as he remembered what his master had told him.

Flashback

"You like (Y/n)?"

"Shhh, she could be anywhere, so keep it down kid." Dohko shushed his student.

"Okay, but why are you telling me this?" Tenma asked

"Because I need you to distract her while I set up a surprise for her. I plan to tell her how I feel too." 

Tenma smiled and agreed. I could always tell that there was something between the two, but didn't want to assume. He was glad that his mentors were finally going to get together.

"Don't worry, I'll keep her busy till your ready." 

"Thank you Tenma. I'm counting on you."

As you guys neared the temple, Tenma decided to leave you two alone.

"I just remembered that I have to meet a friend. I'll see ya later, (Y/n)." He said and ran off.

"Okay? Just don't be too late." You said but he was already gone. "That was weird, but thats Tenma." You said as you went inside. The temple was oddly dark, you could have sworn Dohko would have been home by now.

"Dohko? You here?" You said as you lit a few candles to get some light. A pair of hands soon covered your eyes.

"Guess who?" A familiar voice asked

"Really Dohko? Aren't we alittle old for this game?" You teased him and tried to pry his hands off.

"Hold on. I have a surprise for you. Just let me guide you." You nodded as you felt him lead you away. You walked for a few minutes before he stopped. "Here we are." He moved his hands to reveal a balcony on the temple. A blanket was set up with a few pillows and a few of your favorite flowers were set.

"Dohko, was is this?" You asked. He came up behind you and wrapped his arms around your waist. Your face began to heat up at the closeness.

"This is my way of telling you how I feel." He turned you around so you were facing him. "I've like you for a long time now, (Y/n). War or no war, I wanna be with you. So, will you do me the honor and be my girlfriend?" He said as he kissed hands that he held in his own.

You smiled as tears of joy threatened to spill. "Yes, I will. I love you too Dohko." You said and kissed him. 

He pulled away and gave you his signature smirk. He picked you up bridal style and carried you down the hall to his room. 

"B-But what about Tenma?" You panicked

"I told him to stay away from the temple for tonight. So we have nothing to worry about." He smirked at you.

You gulped and blushed. This was going to be an interesting night.

Bonus:

Tenma walked into the temple the next morning and looked around for his mentors. He checked the bedroom and smiled as he saw both saints cuddled up to each other. 'Finally,' he thought. 'I guess I can start calling them mom and dad now.' He laughed to himself and left them sleep in.
