4 Months Later
5:13amMy hand moved all over the night stand next to the bed, trying to find my ringing phone. Groaning, I sat up and looked to see where it was.
I grabbed it and picked it up. A collect number flashed across the screen. Pulling over the answer button, I put the phone to my ear. "Hello."
"You have a collect call from Carter press one, to accept the charg-."
My thumb hit 1 immediately.
"Dad." Carters words slurred.
I sighed and ran my hands over my face. "You serious Carter?!"
"Come get me man, I'm in jail. The pigs got me man. These crackers don't want me t-."
"Aye Shut up! Where you at C?"
"Downtown, hurry up."
I hung up on him and climbed out of bed slowly so that I wouldn't wake Carlee. Walking into the closet, I pulled on my clothes and grabbed my wallet, headed downstairs, grabbing my keys then walked out the door.
I'm too tired for this bullshit. I spent my entire day moving my things back into our old house and arguing with Carlee because she's losing half of the closet again. On top of that I've been running to get her the food she wants all day, picking up Kylee from practice, doing shit for my mom. NOW I have to deal with my idiot son.
Pulling into the parking lot of the police station, I parked but I sat in my car for a minute. I had to tell myself over and over not to kill this boy.
About 5 minutes went past and I finally went inside, walking up to the officer at the front desk.
"How may I help you sir?" He asked.
"I'm here for my son Carter Brown."
He nodded then started typing in the computer. "Okay, let me call to the back and see what's going on. He does have a bond but I have to see how much that is. You can have a seat."
Sighing I walked over to one of the chairs and sat down. Taking my phone out my pocket, I thought about calling Carlee but she didn't need to worry about this. Sinking down in my chair, I closed my eyes.
I was almost off into a deep sleep when I felt someone tap me. I looked up at the officer that was at the front desk.
"I got some paperwork for you to fill out, follow me." He said.
Groaning, I climbed out my chair and followed behind him. He took me to another desk and when I sat down he put at least 10 papers in front of me.
"Okay, so your son was arrested for underage drinking. Upon arrest he got aggressive with the officers so resisting arrest and assaulting an officer were added to the charges." He said.
"Are you serious?"
"Yes sir."
"Oh my god, so what is his bond amount?"
"10,000."
"You gotta be fucking kidding me! 10,000?!"
