The Red Waste - Year 300 - Camp

Drogo had been healing well from his injury, it had only been a few days but the medicine of the Dothraki healers had helped it to scab, and they said that if he didn't reopen the wound, it should be healed within the week. To accomplish that, Drogo had decided that they would go to the Red Waste, and set up camp until Dany had their son. She was due any time now, and it was a good excuse that did not make him seem weak in front of his men. After a few days of being tied up, Dany had allowed Mirri Maz Durr to be freed, and, while she didn't trust her, she did allow her to serve her.

They had been at the camp for nine days when Dany's water broke. It was unfortunate however, that it broke while she was taking a walk, nowhere near her tent, with only Irri, Rakharo, and Mirri Maz Durr to accompany her.

"Irri!" Dany screamed as the first contraction hit her, it was painful, so painful. Dany didn't think it was supposed to be that painful at the beginning.

"Khaleesi?" Irri asked frantically, rushing to her side and trying to help her stand.

"Gods it hurts! Help me!" Dany screamed as she looked up at Irri's face, and, as her mouth began to move, her face began to blur, and then she saw Mirri Maz Durr grinning behind her, and then nothing.

The Red Waste - The Next Day - Drogo's Tent

Drogo had not left her side since she had been brought back to him. Apparently, Irri said that they had been on a walk, with the witch, Mirri Maz Durr, when Dany had suddenly screamed, saying it hurt, and then collapsed. By the time Rakharo had been able to get her to a healer, she was already dead. Drogo had been mad with rage, screaming at everyone, and desperately trying to make her wake up. But she hadn't. She had been brought to their tent, and laid on their bed, and Drogo had kept watch over her body the entire night, hoping against all hope that she would wake up. She hadn't of course, she was dead.

"Khal Drogo, we have collected the wood for the Khaleesi's pyre." Qotho said as he stepped quietly into the tent, looking at his broken Khal in regret. Drogo nodded before lifting her body gently. He rose, and looked around the room.

"Collect her things, all of them. We will burn them too." Qotho nodded as he stepped out of the doorway so Drogo could exit before he, and Drogo's other blood-riders stepped into the tent to collect Dany's things. Drogo carried Dany all the way to the pyre, and every once in awhile he would look down at her stomach, and think about what could have been. They could have been happy.

When he reached the pyre, everyone was already surrounding it, but they parted to let him through. He carefully laid her on top of the pile before he backed away, standing off to the side as Qotho and the others began laying her things around her. When Drogo saw her dragon's eggs he made them stop. And, taking them for himself, began to lay them around her body, one by her head, one in the crook of her arm, and one by her feet. With that done, he stepped away again and stood next to Jorah the Andal, and watched as his blood-riders finished their task.

"Bring them forward." Drogo commanded loudly, as all of the Lhazareen women that Dany had claimed were brought forward, each had been harshly interrogated after Dany's death, and they had all admitted to knowing of the poison that Mirri Maz Durr had been sneaking into Dany's food. It was supposed to cause a miscarriage, but was usually used early in the pregnancy. They had not known that giving it to a women, so late into a pregnancy, could cause death. But that did not matter to Drogo, they would all die. There were eleven of them, twelve including Mirri Maz Durr, who would also be punished.

"Bind them to the pyre." Drogo commanded gruffly to the riders holding the women still, they quickly nodded and began tying the women to the sides of the large pyre. They would die screaming.

"Khal, the Khaleesi will have no use for dragon eggs in the Night Lands. Sell them. You can buy the wooden horses and take the Seven Kingdoms."

"They were always hers. They are not mine to sell. And there is nothing in the Seven Kingdoms for me now."

"You will not hear us scream!" Mirri Maz Durr screamed as she was tied to the pyre beside her friends.

"I will." Drogo said gruffly in the Common Tongue as he watched. Qotho lit a torch silently before bringing it to him. Drogo silently walked forward, and brought the torch to the pyre, and watched as the flames began to climb up the wood. Drogo vaguely heard Mirri Maz Durr uttering spells, but she quickly began to scream when the flames met her skin, Drogo could not help but be pleased, as he watched the women burn.

The Red Waste - The Next Morning - The Pyre

Drogo and the rest of the Khalasar had stood watch over the pyre the entire night, and it was almost dusk by the time the last ember burned out. Drogo felt the muscles of his back stiffen as he began to walk through the ashes to check and make sure there was nothing left. But what he found... he never would have expected.

Dany was alive... she was sitting in the ashes, naked, holding a baby. And when Drogo stepped closer to make sure his eyes were not decieving him, he was surprised by a small screech. When he looked around, he saw three baby dragons crawling along the ground to rest around Dany and their baby.

"Moon of my life." Drogo said softly as he fell to his knees in front of her. She smiled up at him as he reached for her face.

"My Sun and Stars."

"I thought you were dead... I thought..."

"I know my love... but you brought me back. You brought us back." Before they could say any more, Jorah had found them. He collapsed in front of her as well, eyes scanning every part of her in shock.

"Blood of my blood." He said softly as he bowed his head. She smiled at Jorah gently before she began to rise to her feet, Drogo moving to stand behind her so that he could look at their son from over her shoulder. The dragons began to crawl up her body, one resting on Drogo's shoulder, another on hers, and the last one resting on the baby's belly. When Drogo finally looked away he saw their entire Khalasar knelt in front of them, sending glances up, awed, before they would look back to the ground. Drogo felt the dragon on his shoulder tense up before letting out a loud shriek. It stopped, and hesitated before shrieking again, this time, with the assistance of its siblings.
