Jacky's POV:
I woke up to an empty bed. Ryan must've left during the night. I feel a tear run down my cheek at the thought of just being someone's play toy once more. Just as I Shift to get out of bed, I see something out of the corner of my eye. It's a note.
Jacky,
I'm going back into town to get us something to eat. I didn't want to wake you, so I left you this note. <3 I love you.
XOXO,
Ryan
A smile forms its way across my face as I read the note. He loves me. A few seconds later, I hear the door opening, only to reveal Ryan on the other side. I sigh in relief.
"Good morning, my sweet Bunny!" He says cheerfully. "Sleep okay?"
"Yeah," I reply, sitting up in the bed. "Thanks again for last night. That was amazing."
"You're the one who made it so. Here." He says as he hands me a cheese danish thing. He must have remembered these are my favorite. I smile as I open the wrapper and start to eat. Ryan sat down next to me, taking a couple sodas out of the bag he was holding and handed me one.
"Where do we go from here?" I ask, swallowing the bite of food I had just finished chewing.
"Well, Mika and Derek said to meet them at the bus station downtown." Ryan said, his mouth half full of food. "They said they'll drive us up to their place in Las Angeles. Also said they're starting a band with Ronnie."
"Wait, Ronnie Radke?" I ask, confused.
"Yeah, he's getting out of prison mid December this year."
"Do they have a guitarist?" I was hopeful at this point. I may not have a guitar anymore, but I could ask one of the other guys if I could borrow theirs long enough to get another.
"Not lead." Ryan replied. "You want me to call Mika and tell him to let Ronnie know you're interested?"
"Yes, please!" My excitement was through the roof at this point. Soon as Ryan picked up his phone, someone called.
"It's Derek." He said as he went to the other side of the room to answer. I grew even more excited and, to be honest, a little bit anxious. "They're here. I told them we just got breakfast. They'll be here in five minutes, if that."
"Okay." I reply, pulling my skinny jeans back on.

"Hey, Derek!" Ryan half shouts as he side hugs a man shorter than him. This new guy didn't look much older than Ryan. "This is Jacky." Ryan motioned for me to come over. Nervously, I did so, holding out a hand to shake.
"What's up? I'm Derek." The new guy said. "This is Mika, by the way." Derek put a hand on another man's shoulder. This one had dark, almost blood-red hair, several tattoos covering his chest and arms and gages in his ears.
"You must be Jacky." Mika said, taking my hand. "Ryan said a lot about you."
"None of it bad." Ryan chimed in.
"Come on." Derek said after a moment. "We gotta get going."
"So, Jacky," Mika began after we started to drive off. "If you don't mind my asking, how old are you?"
"Sixteen." I replied, nervously. "My dad kicked me out of my house, though. I'm pretty much homeless."
"Is it because you're gay?" Derek asked. My eyes widened. "Dude, don't be so scared. Some of my best friends are gay."
"Ryan told us about what happened." Mika quickly said. "You're safe with us, though. Can I let you in on a little secret?" I nod a silent 'yes' as Mika smirks. "I'm bi. You're not the only one here." I felt a wave of relief wash over me. "Do you shred?"
"Huh?" I was confused as to what he meant.
"Guitar. Do you play?"
"Oh! Yeah. I don't have a guitar anymore, though, I left it behind."
"That's alright." Derek said, looking back as we stopped at a red light. "You can use one of mine 'til we can get you another." I smiled as we continued to drive. We talked almost the whole time we were on the road. I think I just made a couple new friends.

Ryan's POV:
We stopped at a gas station near the highway to get more waters and snacks. I look over to see Jacky talking to Mika. Turning to Derek, I whisper,
"So, d'you think he's got a chance?"
"Probably." Derek replies, a confident look on his face as he gives a slight nod. Derek was usually right about this kind of thing, so I trust him. "I'll call Ronnie when we get to the house, so Jacky can shred for him."
"Thanks, Derek." I reply, happily. "You're the best." When we all got back in the car, I couldn't help but notice that Jacky had tear stains running down his cheeks. "What's wrong?" I whisper to him, trying not to get the attention of the other two.
"I don't have a home," He says, his voice still a bit shaky. "I don't even have anyone to call my family anymore. I'm nothing."
"We'll be your family." Mika quickly chimed in, shifting in his seat to face us.
"And you're not nothing." Derek adds. "You're an amazing person. Don't let some homophobes get you down." Jacky smiled at this. I hope he's going to be okay.
