"I'm sorry I-, I didn't mean-, I didn't see you." I manage to stutter out. My eyes fall to his chest and being this close I can see the steady rise and fall of his chest and I feel myself take in a shaky breathe. "Are you ok?" Oh my... his Irish accent sends my heart in to rapid beats. "You look a little pale." I just nod in response, worried that if I open my mouth a high pitched squeak will no longer be suppressed. I need to leave, I'm making myself look like a complete idiot. I turn to leave, but I'm pulled backwards. I look down to see Aarons hand wrapped around mine. I gulp. Looking up my eyes meet his again. Oh my good god, he really looks perfect. Pull yourself together Alex, my subconscious screams at me. Taking a calming breath I try and pull my had out of his grasp, but he just holds on tighter in protest. He smiles a crooked smile, "You weren't paying much attention to my talk earlier." Okay, I did not expect that. How do I answer, it wasn't a question was it? How did he even know I wasn't really listening, I was sitting right at the back? He lets go of my hand and I suddenly miss its presence. I can't believe the next words actually leave my mouth, "I was distracted, by-" I stop myself before I finish with by you. I hear a small laugh escape his lips. I take my bottom lip between my teeth. Did his eyes just drop to my lips? Okay, now I'm delirious, what was I thinking?. I shake my head at myself as I walk away. "It was nice to meet you" I fight the urge to turn back around to him and I just keep on walking.
As I begin making my way to the campus exit when I see Matt leaning against the wall, his head snaps up to me as I get closer. "Hey!" he hurries over, embracing me in a big bear like hug. "Are you okay? I was so worried, your never late for anything." His eyes start searching mine for an answer. "Matt, you are seriously over reacting, I'm fine." Out of the corner of my eye I see I figure standing staring at us and as I strain my neck trying to get a better look at who it is. My eyes lock onto those green eyes, I was looking in not too long ago. My breath hitches. His eyes heatedly narrow onto me in the arms of Matt. I scramble out of his arms suddenly feeling even more self conscious, but my eyes do not leave Aarons. "as long as you're ok I'm happy..." I hear Matt begin, but in my trance like state it seems muffled. "Alex?" the sound of my name snaps my attention away from Aaron. I look back to Matt unsure of the question he must have just asked "Hmm?" I ask him questioningly, prompting him to answer the question, hoping he doesn't notice what has, who has stolen all of my attention. "I was just asking what Professor Thomas wanted to speak to you about after the lecture?"
"Oh that, you know I did my work experience at the SL Foundation?" he nods in reply, "well they have offered me a job in their public relations department, as long as my final exam goes well." He picks me up swinging me around in his arms again, "Congratulations! I told you that your amazing!" I am suddenly on high alert looking for Aaron, I sigh in relief as I notice he has gone. Why does this man affect me so much? "Thanks Matt, but can you put me down, I really need to run some errands." He lets me go, smiling a big cheeky grin and I can't help but smile back. I take a step back staring to leave, but I'm taken by surprise when bend down and places a kiss on my cheek. That was weird. He laughs and says "I will call you later." I turn, walking away, my mind all over the place. When I reach my car, I just take a moment to stand in the cold air and take a deep inhale and close my eyes. I open them a couple of seconds later when I begin to feel a little more relaxed. I climb into my little car and starting the engine.
