Shadows pov

"WAKE UP!"

Dumb stupid magic alarm I thought. "disable" I groaned and it disappeared. At least today I'm gonna get up on time. I got out of my bed and was hit with the events of yesterday. I turned into vampire. The bloodthirst was too strong and I nearly killed someone. I thought I was able to control it now, because of me we may be exposed. Again. And after what happened last time I don't think we will survive it this time. I walked over to the sink and started brushing my teeth.

I don't know how but when I saw ash and was about to hurt him I regained control. Maybe it was because he wasn't trying to harm my friends but it felt different, like something else but somehow, I stopped myself. It was nice of him to offer me a ride and when I broke down It was like we were old friends. I let myself become vulnerable with him. My walls broke down but he didn't see it as an advantage, he was a genuinely caring and nice guy. Up until the weird almost kiss scene at the end and what was even weirder was when I got into the house I instantly regretted not doing it.

I wasn't in the right frame of mind yesterday so that might explain my unusual behaviour. I looked up to see my wardrobe. My body must've reacted to me not paying attention and went to autopilot mode. It was scary how I wasn't in control of my own body sometimes. Whatever, now I could pick an outfit for today. Nirvana t-shirt, black ripped jeans, a khaki cardigan and old scarlet hiking boots. Sure, why not.

I grabbed my phone and headed downstairs to eat breakfast. My alarm went of and two seconds later Maddison and Elyse popped up. Today Maddison's hair was in double buns, was wearing high waisted black jeans and an extra big Stillinski hoodie. On the other hand, Elyse was wearing blue ripped jeans, a black bodysuit, Pablo camouflage jean jacket and brown leather hat plus strappy weird green heels. She handed me a box and inside was my favourite cake in the entire world. Maddison stood silently not bothering to hide the anger on her face. Elyse spoke first.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm great why wouldn't I be?"

"Sarcasm, okay then"

"What would you expect. I nearly killed a guy and exposed us. Did you think I would be all sunshine and rainbows?"

"No but you could talk to us."

"Okay. I'm not ok but I'm not traumatised if that's what you are asking. But I will be if you guys pop in here whenever you feel like. Knock next time."

Elyse smiled and I knew we were fine, I turned to Maddie

"Are you okay?"

"Peachy"

That meant she was extremely pissed but talking to her would just make her more pissed.

"Let's go" she walked out the door.

Me and Elyse left, walking quickly to catch up with her. We were silent the whole journey and there was no group of annoying teenage boys to save us from the uncomfortableness. When we got to school the bell rang because we didn't teleport this time. Today we had all the same classes together but Maddison turned away from us to the long way around. Very unlike her. I mouthed "cover for us" to Elyse who then gave a brief nod. I grabbed Maddison and dragged her into the nearest storage closet.

"What the hell are you doing. I am going to be late."

"You are acting as if you were going to on time going the long way around."
