recovery girl didn't waste much time, placing healing kisses on various places over your body. your eyes fluttered open only ten minutes later, to which she handed you a cookie and some juice before going back to treating deku. you ate the cookie, staring at the male's broken hand. it's quiet pitiful, he could become better than all might and his control is still that of a six year-old.

"you should be all better, so you can sit in here or go back to the control room. they're only half way through the training."

you dumped the rest of the juice in your mouth before hopping off of the bed and walked toward the door. "thanks," you muttered before leaving, walking down semi-familiar corridors before finding the control room. the door was slightly opened, letting in a slight breeze from an opened window on the oposing wall. you slipped right in and found yourself next to bakugo, who was still toward the back of the room.

"you okay?" he asked gruffly, arms crossed over his chest. you nodded, squatting beside him. you stared mindlessly at the screens in front before looking over to the blonde, who was doing the same. he could sense your gaze on him but refused to acknowledge it and continued staring at the match between four classmates who's names neither of you knew.

"you have sharp ass abs," you muttered, forcing the male to suppress any rosing of his cheeks that may have occured.

"pay attention idiot, you might learn something," he told you, finally looking down and meeting your gaze. you sighed, staying in the squat as you watched whatever screen you could see between the lake, or more accurately pond, of bodies.

as the battles ended along with the school day, it wasn't surprising you were the first to bolt out as soon as all might had dismissed the class. as much as you loved your costume, it had become a bit of an annoyance as you could feel the metals but still have a weaker connection to them.

you didn't mind that many of the others who's names you still didn't care enough to learn gave you bizarre looks as you shamelessly stripped out of the body suit. it didn't take long to fold the suit back up and stow it away in the briefcase before changing back into your normal school uniform. you closed the locker before twirling around to face the door. you noticed the other girls were still getting buddy-buddy with one another and couldn't help but be somewhat annoyed.

you couldn't make friends as easily as them.
it was a actual miracle that bakugo had stuck around you for so long.

with an unconscious eye-roll you exited the room with case in hand, walking down the hall a bit before leaning against the wall and waiting for bakugo to emerge from the other side of the fork in the hall.

it shouldn't take him long as he honestly didn't have much to put away, which was somewhat understandable. fire-proof clothing was still a bit of a rarity but you still personally would've liked less skin.

god you sounded so much like a mother.

anywho, he walked out in no time, case slung over his shoulder in a typical school gangster wanna-be stance. you smiled and shook your head lightly at this thought, stepping in time with the male.

"so what're you doing after school? just homework or maybe a little training?" you smiled, walking with him. he resisted the urge to scoff or roll his eyes and just glance over to your slightly excited expression. it wasn't your fault he employed a shit strategy. you even told him to not just go for deku and that's exactly what he did.

"training definitely. need to get better plans of attack now that that shitty nerd knows everything about me and played me like a fool," he grumbled the last part.

"not everything should be about beating him but if it gets you motivated i guess i can support that," you shrugged. it didn't take long to get back upstairs and put costumes away. you and bakugo were the first ones in there and sat down, taking a break while packing away your papers. you had taken a seat on the desk and aizawa was 'asleep' so he didn't notice, or more likely, simply didn't care.

the rest of the class started trickling in, all making a plan to stay a bit extra to see if midoriya would come back. bakugo couldn't give less of a shit and dragged you behind him as he walked from the class, still clearly upset about how his match turned out.

"just because you lost your match doesn't mean you aren't one of the best in class. you'll get another chance to show everyone why bakugo katsuki is the next best hero."

"... thanks [last name]-chan."

the two of you changed shoes, sending glances unknown to the recipient. a small smile appeared on your face, he had finally called you by your proper name and even added a 'chan'. he really was just a big sweetheart under the tough exterior. perhaps a kitten dressed as a lion.

you walked outside together, a nice silence surrounding as the sun started to set on the eventful day. you turned and looked up at the taller male and noticed something off. the netural expression he held was hiding a face of resentment and was almost sad in nature. you opened your mouth, to ask about it and find some more words of encouragement when a familiar voice spoke up, yelling at the blonde.

"kacchan!" midoriya yelled, running toward the male beside you. bakugo gave no sign of wanting any conversation with him and his expression quickly turned sour.

"i wasn't out to deceive you. this quirk... wasn't mine. i was given this power," he said, sending worried glanced to you at the words. you held a calm and intimidating expression but pondered at the words.

"look deku, i get it-i lost but there's no reason to go and make up lies to try and make me feel better. after hearing that girl's critiques and half-half's battle with princess here-" your expression now had the faint outline of a frown, both at the name and at the blonde's emotions getting the better of him. something you never thought you would see from such a strong and stubborn male, tears "-made me realize i have more work to do. but don't get me wrong. i'm just getting started and will never lose again." the male grabbed your wrist and turned to storm away, not allowing midoriya to see anymore weakness.

"bakugo, it's oka-" again with the interruption, goddamn.

"bakugo-kid!-"

"i don't need your speech. i'll surpass everyone to number one hero without you or anyone else's help." his tight grip strengthened as he turned to flee this time, almost at the point of dragging you behind him as if you were a doll. the comment was harsh but you didn't want to upset him further and when he finally slowed to a pace you could keep up with he dropped your wrist and slumped back in his normal walking position.

"for whatever it's worth i believe in you one hundred percent," you mumbled as the two of you walked into the train station. he looked down at you as he swipped his card. you followed his actions and the two of you waited for the next train taking you closer to your residences.
