Ringing was all I could hear, the voices shouting at me distorted. Hands grabbed onto my body pulling at me, trying to make me get up. The ground under me was cool, firm, and smelled strongly of lavender. I couldn't respond to anyone my body falling limp at the constant tugging. My mouth dry reminding me to get some water. Then the tugging stopped and surrounding me was warmth, the once cold ground turned into a heater. Vagily my mind registered the arms wrapping around my body to pick me up; once in the air I only then realized how limp I was.
Each movement jerked me around, my figure ragdolling around unnaturally. My heart was beating fast in my chest, like clockwork the thump thump thumping hammered into me. Air alluded me, escaping my bodies desperate desire to have some relief. Almost immediately my body burned in anguish clawing for the sweet release of breath. My mind slowly faded with me as my heart slowed and the darkness once again engulfed me.
------
My mentor stood in front of me, this sensation was weird. I knew he was dead but yet there he was right before me. He had a smile on his face, one that was rare. So rare in fact that I almost thought this was fake until he spoke.
"My child. I'm sorry they've done this to you." His deep baritone voice said.
I was confused, I had no knowledge of what someone had done. In fact it felt as though, in this moment, that my mind was being shielded of any memories. Tilting my head I stared at him, he still looked the same. His hair was still shoulder length and ebony while his eyes crinkled at the ends they still shone with a vibrant blue.
"What do you me, mentor?" My voice surprisingly was small its once fierceness gone.
He looked at me with sorrowful eyes, before saying "You'll understand."
He paused momentarily before continuing almost as if he didn't want to share what he was about to say. Making up his mind he spoke once more "What you have lost at their hands is great but even so it will make you stronger, I tried to help you but the damage was done before I could. Don't forget that you'll see me again."
He started to fade, his body becoming transparent causing me to reach out for him. Screaming for him not to leave me again. And then I felt as though I'd dropped back into my body.
Gasping for air I shot up in bed, the heart monitor was beating crazily trying desperately to keep up with my heart. My ears rung again only because of my quick movement, my vision was black. I heard someone scream in front of me, the screech making me wince.
"Oh my lord....." Someone said quietly "How is that possible?"
The meaning of their question didn't bother me as I tried to get up out of bed. Even though my vision was jacked up I could see...... auras?? The girl that had screamed seemed to be glowing with a yellow outline whereas the boy glowed with a pink outline. Strange..... Maybe the guy was gay???
Chuckling to myself I looked around some more. The room had white outlines around the objects, blinking I wondered why I couldn't see. Sniffing I made out oranges and chocolate with sage and fresh air.
Finally finding my voice I said "Wren, Icarus?"
My words were ruff and hoarse as I pronounced their names. However at the sound of my voice both immediately rushed to my side. Wren hugged me with all her might tears running down her face. Icarus too was sobbing as he cradled my head. I was super confused. What had happened?
"What's wrong?" I said my voice still protesting.
At my question Wren sobbed harder while Icarus forced his down giving me a response "You died. Like died, died." He spoke the words ever so softly.
Huh? Died? The fuck. That couldn't be right, how did I died? Before I could ask anymore question someone came bursting through the door. Instantly my nose was assaulted with burnt marshmallows.
At this smell my brain raged, quickly sending me the previous events that had went down. Gasping I shook slightly, that had happened. Around the man that had entered was a calming green aura. Shaking my head slightly I tried to clear my thoughts as to what I had just remembered.
"You." I said quietly. Even as I replayed my memories they were hazy only throwing me bits and pieces.
The man said nothing but just stood there presumably looking at me. My head hurt from all the information I attempted to sort. Groaning I rubbed my eyes slightly causing Wren to freak out.
"What's wrong?? Is anything different?? Are you hurt??" Her voice was frantic rushing around like a tumbleweed in the desert.
Trying to focus I replied "I can't see anything."
My statement was a white lie, but for the most part I couldn't in fact see anything just outlines of people and objects. Wren ran screaming out of the room, in her haste for a nurse or doctor. Icarus sighed rubbing circles into my arm a habit I noticed he had when stressed.
Once the nurse had gotten to my room, she did a check up on me. Informing me that I had lost my vision however and I quote "Your vision should come back within a week or two. If it doesn't come back and see doctor Howard."
Nodding I allowed myself to relax in the comfort of my friends/kin.
-----Sorry this was a shorter chapter, and that I haven't updated in a little bit. I've had a lot of things thrown at me and juggling between them has been ruff. I hope everyone can understand, also I'll try to give you more chapters today but I might not be able too.
