Chapter 6: Alpha

After the ceremony each of the packs headed back to their lands, and unfortunately for me my pack was the closest to the school grounds, not. The supposed leader decided to test our strength by letting us run back to the pack. He paired us off into groups of three and conveniently I got paired with my kin (probably because they were supporting my weight and the leader didn't want me to pass out). 

Once the leader left towards the pack the groups were able to shirt into animal form and follow. Icarus gently shifted his weight out from under mine and held me by my hands as I focused on shifting into my animal. Wren clung to my body, her own form trembling after feeling so much pain. Gasping I squeezed Icarus's hands and allowed for Arya, my fox, to heal me. Sighing with relief I hunched over letting my body transform into a fox.

Once I'd changed into my fox, Wren followed suit and changed into her leopard named Rada. Icarus petted my fur and asked "Are you going to be able to kick some Alpha ass?"

Wren yowled in reply and flicked her tail back and forth, the action amused me since she's always so calm. Looking at Icarus I nodded and he smiled in reply and shifted into his jaguar who was called Veera.

Breathing in the air I felt my senses sharpe, automatically my body crouched down before taking off into a full sprint. Laughing through the kin link I pushed our bodies to run faster, the wind rushed past us as we weaved through the trees. Jumping over fallen trees I could tell that traps were set out to test us as warrior pack members, passing by a group of three who'd gotten stuck in a trap I could easily tell that the traps weren't for the packs protection.

Dodging multiple traps and passing two more groups of three Wren rounded on my left and Icarus on my right. We'd been running at top speed for about 3 minutes and up ahead I could see the Alpha. He wasn't facing us but I could tell by his trot that he assumed that no one could catch up to him.

Looking at the others I snorted and said 'Some leader.'

They chuckled in reply through the link. Stretching my muscles further I leapt over the Alpha's body and sped past him. Shocked the Alpha roared in protest.

My eyes scanned the area as I spotted more traps.

'Watch your left.' I said to Wren. Immediately Wren jumped over the swinging log advancing in her direction.

'Under you.' I calmly said to Icarus who replied with 'Shit. These are everywhere!' As he proceeded to jump over it.

In front I could see the entrance to the pack, its gates closed, seemingly as though the pack members didn't expect any visitors. Closing the distance I heard Wren scream 'Behind the tree!!!'

Barreling towards me was another male in animal form, he snarled at me getting in my way of the pack entrance. From the power emitting off him I would've assumed he was the Alpha. And looking at his animal form I didn't seem to fit his personality. Thinking to myself I jumped into a nearby tree, Icarus understood the hint and distracted the male.

Judging from the male's movements he was familiar with the animal form he was in, however his actions showed that he isn't in sync with his animal. Icarus snapped at the male while wren ran around him, his reaction to this was to stand still watching them. This suggested that his animal was bigger, much bigger than that of Wren's and Icarus's animals.

Then I'd made the connection as his eyes glinted in the sun, DRAGON!!! His eyes had pointed pupils and while cat animals have pointed pupils naturally, his animal was a wolf; meaning that he shouldn't have pointed pupils.

The only possible explanation would be that his real animal was a dragon, because dragons had the ability to let their owner shape shift between animals.

The male started to rear back at Icarus and Wren who were now in front of him, sparks drew my eyes from him form to his now open mouth.

'FUCK!!!! RUN NOW!!!' I yelled within the link as I jumped out of the tree.

Icarus and Wren seemed confused at to why I said to run, but in the moment of their distraction the male took his strike. Bursting through the foliage I shifted mid jump into the air, and summoned my master's sword.

"TERO!! I command you to summon!" My voice sliced through the air as the sword immediately formed in my hands.

The moment I landed in front of my kin was when the dragon started striking, a flash indicated his power was lighting. Quickly I swung Tero and deflected the lighting causing a boom to sound loudly throughout the silent forest. My aim didn't miss I knew this much as the lighting shot up into the air leaving a smoke trail after it. Heaving I realized I was naked, but in the current moment I didn't care.

"Dragon." I said in between my breaths for air.

Icarus and Wren stood behind me unscratched as I looked into the eyes of the dragon male. We challenged each other through are gaze as mine blazed with a chilling fury. The male didn't back down as his eyes suggesting his equally as furious eyes. Roaring at me the male shifted into his dragon form. His wings beating as he tried to get me to cower.

Well, that confirmed my other question. The other 'Alpha' came running out of the trees and into the small clearing. He shifted quickly and told me to stop.

Snorting at him, my thought rang into my kins head 'I don't take orders from you. Bitch.'

"SHIFT BACK NOW!!!!!" The power of my command caused Icarus and Wren to whimper, their bodies being forced to shift back.

The dragon in front of me roared in pain as snapping was heard throughout the clearing. He too was having his body forced into its original form. His form squirmed around as he tried to fight the transformation. After 20 minutes he collapsed from exhaustion as his body slowly turned human. Icarus and Wren had already shifted back, their bodies huddled together as they tried to hide their nudity.

Once the male was back in human form, he reared back. Towering over me his voice deep and strong as he said "Who the fuck are you!?"

Chuckling I calmly said "Nice to finally meet you Alpha. I'm Sedona, an Alpha female."
