He smiled, glancing at John's lips again.
"Again?"
John glanced over his shoulder, taking his hands away from Sherlock's cheeks.
"...Not here,"
Not anywhere, I'm your teacher.
"How about the back of the school?"
Shit.
"I still have Lestrade's smokes," Sherlock smirked.
Double shit.
John stared, fear in his eyes.
And being the 17 year old genius he could tell, he saw the fear and hesitation.
"It's because I'm your student isn't it..."
He nodded. "I'm sorry, Sherlock. Believe me, I do... Like you a lot,"
"Then why pretend you don't,"
"Sherlock, I'm your teacher, I'm married..."
The boy was silent, Greg's words echoing in his mind.
"I know you very well, and I know you think something is going to happen. Like you'll both be head over heels for each other, but in reality it's probably not going to happen."
"Sherlock, there's just more cons than pros in this situation,"
"I get that," he snapped.
"What do you want me to do?" John asked angrily.
"I want you to be with me, I wouldn't care if it was in secret, I just want to be with you,"
John sighed, rubbing his temple frustratedly.
"Honestly, what did you expect, John? You flirt with me on a daily basis, you smoked with me, gave me your number. And on the phone, admitted to being bisexual after I admitted to being gay. Well, I didn't actually admit it, it just kind of slipped. But, you knew, and you still told me. And to top all that off, you insist I call you by your first name. Which isn't such a big deal, but it is for you. Being an army doctor, who doesn't take anything less than 'Mr. Watson,' in respect."
"Sherlock. I... You're right, okay? I didn't know how to deal with my feelings for you, so basically I didn't. I let everything out, and I'm sorry,"
"...So what are you going to do now?"
"...Would you give me time to think?"
Sherlock stood and grabbed his things. "I'll be awaiting your answer Monday,"
He stormed out angrily, phoning his mum to pick him up.

For the rest of Friday, and over the long weekend, John debated and dwelled.
His wife nagged him, criticized, which urged John to follow his heart. Even though his heart was leading him in a bad direction.
He knew that too, he knew the consequences. But the words his mother had told him many, many, years ago stuck in his head.
"The heart wants, what the heart wants. You aren't wrong for loving anyone, you can't help who you love,"
Yet again, he would recoil, feeling as though he dug up his mother's words to comfort himself in this situation.
Recoiled again, realizing Mary had brought up his mother, in bad light. And only was he remembering good things about his mum. For example, telling her son it was okay to love, anyone.
