Peter POV
I swung home after the whole 'surprise' thing with Wade. My mind was already tired as it is, so as soon as I got home, I skimmed my homework, showered, and collapsed in my bed on my face.
"Peter hurry up or you won't have time for breakfast," Sam yelled from downstairs. Ah, he's in the tower now?
With a groan, I rolled out of bed and threw on some skinny jeans along with a hoodie crop top. I added my old sneakers to top it off. I looked in the mirror. "Yup, I definitely look like hot trash."
Friday's voice came into the intercom of my room. "Is it bad that even I, an A.I who is programmed to always be polite and friendly, thinks you're acting like a hypocrite right now?" I chuckled with a sigh. "No, it doesn't."
I skipped my way into the kitchen, humming gently. I was just in a good mood today, which is weird considering Flash kicked my ass, got his ass kicked by Wade, a dude I only met this week, and Wade already know's my identity. Sam held a plate of bacon and eggs for me, and I joyfully retrieved it from him before plopping down on the counter.
Only now did I notice Tony, who was...in his pajamas. "Don't you have work today, Pop?" I asked, a mouthful of food. Steve peered in and pointed at me with a stern finger. "No talking with a full mouth, Pete."
I swallowed down the food in my mouth. "Sorry, Dad."Steve nodded, expecting my apology before disappearing down the hall. Tony had a plate of only eggs, crumbs of bacon evident on his face, as he began to push the eggs around with his fork. "I'm not working today." I hummed in acknowledgment and continued eating. Tony studied my relaxed posture.
"Your...fully healed now?" Tony asked. Sam, who was cleaning the dishes, seemed to pause and look at me in his peripheral vision. "Yeah, surprisingly. My wrist still kinda hurts but it's not unbearable," I shrugged. "You can stay home today if you want. Taking that filthy subway and walking doesn't seem like such a good idea."
I scrunched up my face in fake confusion. "Dad, I always walk. The walk isn't even that far." "You might...pull something if you walk." Tony shrugged. "Some rest would do you some good," Sam added under his breath, reaching into the fridge and pulling on a...large ass cookie.
"Ooh, can I get a piece?!" I awed. The cookie was larger than my head. I wonder how I never noticed it. Maybe someone just put it there. "You better not be messing around with my cookie I got from the mall!" Bucky's voice yelled from down the hall.
Sam put the cookie back swiftly. "Gotta blast!" And with that, Sam raced out. I giggled and continued to happily eat.
Ding!
Tony and I turned our heads to see Happy walking in, looking confused. He looked around and spotted Papa and exhaled out of his mouth.
"There's a boy downstairs claiming he's here to walk Peter to school," Happy claimed. Tony narrowed his eyes. "Who?" I turned away, tuning out their conversation to see if Wade had texted me.
DP: Morning, BabyBoy. 7:01 AM
DP: I'm walking nearby, can I walk you to school? 7:15
DP: I'm in the main lobby, where are you -_- 7:28 AMWell damn. I shoved my phone deep in my pocket and turned back around to see Pop and Happy looking at me, but their looks...were different. Tony was looking at me with a serious expression and Happy only seemed to be looking at me became Tony was looking at me.
"It's that Wade kid isn't it?" Steve walked in at that very moment and sighed, placing his hand on his hip. "What's wrong with Peter hanging around this kid anyway?"
