It's the middle of winter in Minneapolis when Indigo gets off a greyhound from a town far away. She catches a cab to a hotel across from First Avenue nightclub, the place where so many have gotten discovered. She knows that if she can just get an audition from the club owner everything she dreamed could come true..and all her problems she fought to get away from will be a distant memory.
The Kid formed The Revolution straight out of high school and has been doing what he loves for the past few years. Everything except go home. Where he lived wasn't home, it was hell. He wants to finally move out on his own but the only thing standing in his way is Morris Day. His crowd has gotten smaller and smaller since Morris has joined the nightclub with his shenanigans. Not to mention his band members are starting to act funny. The club owner is thinking about taking his performance slot away. But he knows that if he can just write something to bring back his crowd, everything will go back to normal and he could escape what awaits him every night.
