The sun slowly started to descend back into the place where it hid during the night hours. You yawned knowing that soon you'd have to get up the following day for work. Your days were simple; wake up, work, eat, clean. Being on repeat probably for the rest of your life wasn't fun but it kept you busy and it kept you stable financially.

Althought your daily routine was boring there is one thing; or more so person who makes it more enjoyable these days.

You visit a coffee shop everyday, and order nearly the same thing each time. The nice blue haired barista could memorize your order by heart if she wished to but she always made you say it anyway. A day came and you noticed the woman wasn't there, instead she was replaced with a male with rich silky white hair that reached to his shoulders but it was tied off into a ponytail behind him. He was very handsome alomst prince like in your opinion. 

"Uhm- ready to take your order?"

He asked, his eyes meeting your e/c orbs awaiting a response.

"Can I get a 1 med sized Cappuccino?"

Deciding to try something different today you smiled, which the male in front of you returned curtly before your order was to be prepared. For some reason it was hard to not let your eyes wonder to the shiro haired male during the time you were there. His voice was soft yet you could feel a twinge of something you couldn't decrypt in his tone.

As if you spoke him up he sauntered over to your table with your beverage, setting it down gently onto the mahogany table.

"Thank you."

You breathed out before taking the chance to look up at him again. He looked very distressed at that moment.

"Hey are you okay?-"

"Im sorry I'm just a little drained that's all."

"Well your more than welcome to accompany me at this lonely looking table of mine. Think of it as a small break okay?"

You half whispered the last part grinning like a fool. He chuckled genuinely at your suggestions before nodding in agreement himself.

"I guess."

"So-"

You trailed eyes looking everywhere but at the man in front of you for a moment.

"What's your name?"

I asked my eyes locking onto his for that brief second.

"Ken, Kaneki. What about you?"

"O-oh yeah I forgot I'm y/n, l/n by the way!"

My eyes were glued on him at this point and I know he felt it.

"Well, I know I have to get going soon so uh.."

I paused digging through my jacket for my digits or something.

"I like talking to you so do you wanna hang out more often?"

Inner me was screaming at myself questioning how could I be so bold but outer me was actually pretty cool. Kaneki rolled up his sleeve and smiled that adorable smile I'd definitely grow accustomed to.

"I actually wouldn't mind that at all."

Chessing hard at the man I wrote down the digits to my phone number on his arm even going as far as writing my name in cursive too.

"Y/n?"

"Ya?"

"I'll call you later?"

It was more of a 'is it okay if I call you later' but I got the point. Though I didn't understand why he needed my confirmation for a trival phone call.

"Okay, Well see ya around kaneki!"

After that you left out of the cafe with a little more motivation than usual to get to work.

A/n: I forgot to mention this is honstly a unisex drabble because I picture reader as a guy but also a really bold causal-with-everyone kind of girl for this one.
