Chapter One...

Cloned

I was at a cliff, looking down below at the waters crashing onto stone, everything a soaked mess of dirt and rocks. Trees surrounded me, and I moved closer to the edge of the cliff. I kicked a pebble and it fell down, into the water and was lost in the river. It was meters below. I’d never make it. I sighed and sat down on the edge of the cliff, watching the blue waters. Then, out of nowhere, I got up.

And I jumped.

The wind rushed past my ears, and I listened to the howl of the river as I got closer-- closer to my death, closer to the end. Then, I unfurled my wings, letting the air lift me up. There was a loud whoosh, like a Parachute had been opened, and then I was sailing up, up, up, into the blue skies. I did loops, feeling free, grinning from ear to ear. I flapped my wings. This was awesome.

So, now you’re probably wondering- how do I have wings? Am I a bird? An Angel? What species am I, and how did I end up like this? Well, first, I am not a bird. And I’m not an Angel, either. Well, not fully angel. My dad was an Angel— a warrior—and mated with my mom—a human, and created me. I was bestowed the gift of feathery tan-brown wings. Cool, right? I smiled to myself and lunged down into the trees, then came back up. The wind made my eyes water, but I ignored it. I flew in a random direction, not sure where I was going.

I ended up running into a clone. It had black hair and blue eyes. It looked like Alec, but I knew it wasn't. It even had the same black wings as Alec. But I knew it was a shape-shifting demon. I pulled out a sword-- Michael's blade. I hid behind a large boulder, praying the demon wouldn't see me. I wasn't in for a fight today.

Of course, it just had to see me. It lunged, and I jumped back, slicing my blade in a neat arc. The demon shrieked as the holy blade cut it's arm, and black goo gushed out.

It lunged at me again.

I dodged a punch, and round-house kicked it in the ribs, and stabbed blindly with my blade. Clones are un-killable. They just come back to life. I had wounded it pretty badly, now, so I decided to escape before it decided to pounce again.

I flew home.

I don't remember falling asleep-- only collapsing onto the couch and muttering that my head hurt, but then someone was shaking my shoulder, and I opened an eye. "what?" I said irritably.

It was Kik. "Alec told me to tell you to get your ass off the couch and into bed." He paused, trying to remember what else our adopted brother had said. "oh, yeah," Kik said, "he also told me to tell you that there's no more peach flavored ice cream left."

I rolled my eyes. Alec and his Peach Ice Cream. "fine, I'll get some more later."

I then proceeded to drag my lazy ass into my room, slam the door, and crash onto my bed.
