Harshad's POV:

I could not come to terms with reality, Deeksha was marrying me for real. This was the dream I saw every night and consoled myself in the morning saying it wasn't possible.

And now the hardest part was to convince mom. She wouldn't agree so easily. But I wouldn't give up so soon either. Also, I knew Aman would not support me as he disliked Deeksha for no particular reason as such. But I had to set things right and talk to them as soon as possible.

I came home as I decided to talk to them in person because it was a crucial matter. Just as my flight landed, I got a message from Deeksha.

Reached? she asked

Yes, just now. I replied

Okay, take care. she texted back.

You too. I replied along with a smiling emoji. There was so much more I wanted to tell her, that I miss her, I love her and I can't wait to marry her. But as of now, my priority was to convince my parents.

"How come you came all of a sudden?", dad asked me after reaching home. He knew there was something more to this surprise visit. "I will tell you soon, dad", I gave him a tight-lipped smile.

After dinner, three of us were sitting on the lawn when I determined to break the ice.

"I think I should get married now", I started.

They smiled looking at each other. "Okay, tell her name", my dad laughed. What? Do they already know?

"We knew that you had something to share when you came without informing. We have no issues Harshad. We want you to be happy", my dad told. That was such a relief. But how would they react if I would tell them that this would be Deeksha's second marriage?

"At least show the picture", my mom said with a grin. "Her name is Deeksha", I said and showed them her picture.

"She is very beautiful", my mom said looking at the pic and passed the phone to dad

"She is very beautiful", my mom said looking at the pic and passed the phone to dad.  They were all happy. Deeksha was, I didn't want to ruin this. I am sure mom and Deeksha will get along very well and she won't even mind about her previous marriage after this.

"When do we meet her parents?", dad asked.

"Soon mom", I said giving them a tight hug.

After a lot of trials, Aman also agreed. I could understand his concern, both my friends have seen me at my worst times. But somehow I made them forget the past and live the present.

Deeksha's POV:

My parents were on cloud nine after Harshad informed them about his parents being ready for our marriage.

I was surprised to see that his parents agreed so soon because I remember him being tensed about it which was obvious nevertheless, I was relieved that they did.

Our parents wanted to meet each other and finalize the wedding date. I wanted a simple wedding where the close relatives were only invited. In fact, I didn't want anybody except his parents and mine.

But mom made me understand that Harshad was their only son and they obviously wanted to invite people and be happy at his wedding. At the same time, she promised me to not to invite anyone who would remind me of my past.

His parents were really nice people. But Harshad looked worried all the while. I even tried asking him but he somehow dodged the topic. However, the meeting went well and our wedding was fixed on 26th May 2018.

26th May 2018

8:30 am

I kept wondering how would my life be after today, I was getting married again. Same old thoughts started haunting me. What if history repeats itself?, what if something happens to Harshad? He was also the only son of his parents. I didn't want another mother to lose her son, another father being broken.

I had seen Nikhil's parents suffer. They say, losing a child is the biggest grief anybody can feel. I started feeling terrible all over again.

I had hardly any time left. I could sense the nervousness, the uncomfortableness and mainly fear. Fear of losing Harshad.

Mom came into my room with breakfast in her hand. She prepared my favorite breakfast for me. There was hope, hope in those eyes that her daughter might lead a happy life henceforth. I knew they would not be able to see me in pain again. Which parents would want their child to suffer?.

She sat next to me and held my hand, "Don't worry, nothing is going to repeat". I buried myself in her lap and cried profusely. She kept rubbing my back.

"Mom, I want Harshad to be safe. I don't want to kill him just the way I killed Nikhil" I said tears falling on my cheek.

"Shut up Deeksha, you were never the reason for Nikhil's death. It was an accident. Stop blaming yourself", she held my shoulders "You are going to start a new life. Nikhil is your past. You might never completely forget him but now onwards Harshad is your husband.

You need to accept him Deeksha. I hope you are understanding what I am trying to convey to you. It's okay to take time, get to know him better, spend quality time with each other but don't take too long. He is a very nice guy Deeksha.

Your dad and I would not just get you married to someone. We thought a lot and arrived at this decision. Trust us and respect our choice. Harshad will always keep you happy.

I can assure that but it's your responsibility as well to take care of him. I know my daughter won't let me down. She will be a good wife. I can guarantee this because she is already an amazing daughter and we are so proud of you", saying so she kissed my head.

Dad stood near the door with tears in his eyes. He came and hugged us and I smiled in between those sobs.

Harshad's POV:

Deeksha didn't know that my family was not aware of her past. I made sure that nobody discusses it and fortunately everything went as planned.

I kept aside all my worries when I saw Deeksha coming. She looked like an angel in her bridal attire. I was still making myself believe that this was not a dream and we are actually getting married.

She came and stood in front of me and we made an eye contact. We smiled at each other and exchanged garlands. All the rituals were done systematically, we took the blessings of our elders.

I was going to start a new journey with the girl I fell in love with. We are married.
