Chapter 4

A week has passed since my first appointment and Ryder spending time with me at my house; I've fallen into a routine with school, home and Ryder. Lunch time is spent with Gavin, Courtney, Andre, Ryker, Dominic and his three friends, Ryder and myself. Ryder and I have grown closer as have Dom and Ryker but I have a strange feeling that Ryder doesn't like when his brother and I talk. I'm not sure what to make of his attitude when his brother and I talk since I don't become a big baby when he and Dominic talk.

Since today is Friday, I have my appointment after school today with the doctor to find if I'm able to have the hearing aides or not. It's been a long stressful reason due to this one factor; and I'm such a bundle of nerves that I can't keep my legs still during lunch.

Ryder places his left hand on my right leg at the knee and squeezes it gently. Turning my head to him in question. "Calm down, Nik," he says quietly in my ear sending shivers through my body at his warm breath and his closeness.

"I'm scared I won't be able to have this done," I murmur back. Lying my head on his shoulder as Ryder pulls me from the waist closer to his side as he settles his arm around my waist.

"You'll be able to, postitive thoughts, love," he says into my hair with a squeeze at my waist.

"Thanks Ryd, can you come with me, I know it's short notice?" I ask picking my head up slightly to look at him.

"Sure, what time is your appointment?" he asks with a smirk.

"3:30 p.m.," was my simple reply.

"I'll meet you at the parking lot so I can follow you in my car, alright?" Ryder asks before his lips are pressed against my forehead in a lingering kiss.

We hear several 'awes' from around the table, breaking us out out of our little bubble. Burrying my heated face into Ryder's neck as he chuckles and holds me tighter.

"Are you two dating yet?" Gavin asks as he throws a biscuit at us; which bounces of Ryder's chiseled chest and into my neck causing everyone to giggle but blush to deepen.

"Not yet but we will be eventually," Ryder says with such determination in his voice that I had to peek my face out and stare at him in shock. He's so confident that I can't even begin to have that level of cockiness.

"Don't give me that look, Nik. You know you will say yes when I ask you to be my boyfriend," he finishes with that damn sexy smirk that makes my knees weak and my tummy into jello.

Staring at him for a moment longer before the bell rings ending lunch. Mood instantly turns to shit since I don't want to attend my last three classes. I just want to head to my appointment and find out my fate. Trudging to my next class with Ryder by my side holding my right hand along with Gavin, Courtney and Andre.

Finally after a long three hours, classes are finally done for the day. Dominic, Ryder and myself head to the parking lot after making stops at our lockers to dispose of our unnecessary books and the books we need to complete any homework over the weekend.

Dad was already in the parking lot when the three of us walked out there. Hugging Ryder, I head to dad's vehicle telling him Ryder is following us to the doctor's office and coming with; hoping that dad doesn't care, which he doesn't.

After waiting in the waiting area and the room for twenty minutes, the doctor finally enters the room. I'm sitting on the bed as Dom and dad are sitting in the chairs and Ryder is sitting next to me but quickly jumps off when the doctor enters with a smile and a greeting to all of us.

Ryder introduces himself to the doctor before he quickly turns to the matter at hand. "So, after analyzing the tests, I've decided that you are a perfect candidate for the hearing aides. So, we can fit you today for those and then have you come back again Monday for any concerns and issues that you discover over the weekend, how does that sound?"
