"Smile Kate" Billy smiles at her in an effort to make her mimic his expression, In return he receives a forced smile. He knew that she had just had a moment with Zak and that she was clearly affected by the shared words between the two, he didn't wish to poke his nose in their business so instead he decided to cheer her up. He pulled a goofy face at her, this received a giggle to which Aaron smiled too, "see i knew you were capable of being happy again" she rolled her eyes at him before pulling her tongue out childishly.
Silence fell upon them as Zak approached looking troubled, "Aaron, you look exhausted so let's get you guys home" they nodded as she smiled, she met Zaks beautiful brown eyes causing her heart to skip a beat.
She decided to make the first move in maintaining their close bond, so she took a deep breath before taking his hand and giving it a reassuring squeeze, he looked up with a soft smile "I'm sorry Zak, i shouldn't have been so silly" he shook his head "no you did nothing wrong, I'm sorry that my actions upset you but i do think we need to discuss why my actions upset you".
She nodded with a small smile "okay, now come on. I'm afraid if we leave Aaron much longer he will fall asleep and then we will be forced to drag him up to his room" he chuckled nodding, he gripped her hand tight before spinning her and leading his favourite giggling beauty to the exit.
"Aaron stop being lazy and get you arse up those steps and to bed!" She tapped her foot impatiently as he groaned "im too tired, i think I deserve a piggy back ride so bend over dear little sister" she scoffed as Zak and Billy chuckled in amusement at the two siblings. Jay had already headed to his apartment that he shared with his girlfriend, Billy had chosen to stay with Aaron as he claimed he was too exhausted to wait to arrive home, but Kate had a feeling that he was afraid to be left alone with the soft tension between her and Zak. "Aaron how about you bend over and I'll give your arse a right good kicking" she stepped forward causing Billy to step in "i got this" he grinned as Zak smiled at a scowling Kate. Aaron smirked at Kate as he stood "see im still annoying, even in my late 30s" she rolled her eyes as she elbowed him "yeah but i can still kick your arse" he chuckled as he hugged her "I'll see you tomorrow" she frowned "i thought your filming tomorrow?" He smirked "enjoy chatting to loverboy over there" she glared at him as he ran off in an attempt to escape a good beating.
The car roared to life leaving her racing down the road "you want me to take you home?" She glanced quickly at Zak before focusing her attention back on the road ahead. Shaking his head he smiled "i gotta pick up Gracie from your house first" she grinned "oh yeah, i forgot about that. She has been so well behaved, almost like having a second dog, might not give her back willingly" she smirked as he chuckled "then you leave me no choice but to tickle you until you hand my beautiful baby over" she rolled her eyes as she giggled. She enjoyed this time with him but could feel him getting ready to ask her the question that had been bothering him since the meal. "Kate?" She hummed in response as she tried to calm her nerves. "Why were you upset earlier?" She frowned "i already told you, just a little jealousy" now he frowned "but why?" She sighed pulling over and turning to him "Zak, you are my favourite person in all the world. You make me feel beautiful and happy. I suppose im falling in love with you" she dropped her head in fear of his rejection, she knew he could never love her but hope still lingered in her heart. His silence weakening that flicker of hope as each second passed. She looked up slowly at him, a small smile played on his lips as she frowned. She opened her mouth to speak only for him to cut her off with a simple kiss on the lips, his lips told her all she needed to know about his feelings for her. How bliss this moment was with him.
