The Alluring Darkness

Chapter 2

"She said Yes! Im engaged!" Kate giggles at his excitement as she pictures the goofy grin plastered on his face. Aaron and the others in the car share a confused look as Kate continues to giggle. "Kate, thank you so much. Your work was amazing and she loves the tattoo" she nods "anytime bud, i look forward to the wedding" she smiles as she focuses back on the road ahead "I'll be sure to send an invite for you and your plus one" she chuckles "Yeah who am I gonna bring? My goofy big brother? Or maybe one of his loony friends?" She looks back at the boys through the rear view mirror sending them a cheeky wink to which Aaron pulls his tongue out in a child like manner. She shakes her head at him as she ends the call.
They pull up moments later to a restaurant just down the road from the hospital, she sighs as she watches the boys wrestle in the back to get out of the car first. She rolls her eyes as Zak cheers in accomplishment, "It's okay, you'll grow up one day" she grins at Aaron who crouched down in order for her to jump on his back for a good old fashioned piggyback ride. The pair charge into the restaurant calling out various battle cries, of course Zak and the others follow in amusement as the staff look at the pair as though they had lost all normality about them.
"Okay so he kisses her right, and she totally falls for him. Then the next day she expects him to move in with her after only a few hours of knowing one another" Aaron laughs loudly as Zak goes red, Kate on the other hand felt a little upset, she couldn't understand why because normally this sort of story about a crazed fan of zaks would make her laugh so hard she would end up pissing herself. Zak catches her eye and appears to frown at her current state, clearly he had noticed her lack of amusement over the embarrassing story. "Excuse me" she smiles as Aaron and Jay nod in acknowledgement, Zak simply watches her leave as Billy smiles knowingly.
Stupid feelings! Why do you have to make an appearance now?! I was having fun and now im feeling upset and fed up. Why am I even upset?... i mean it's not like he is my boyfriend, it's not like he shares the love i have for him... wait what? "Kate!" She turns abruptly nearly causing Zak to fall into her, apparently she had been pacing as she became consumed by her thoughts. "What's up?" She avoids making eye contact with him as she takes a seat on a bench beside them, "i wanted to see if you were okay, you seemed upset and quiet in there" she sighs patting the seat beside her. He takes a seat with a confused look, "i dont know why I was upset, but i think it had something to do with Aaron's story" Zak tilts his head still confused, he couldnt understand why a story about some random fan would upset her. "Why would such an embarrassing story about me make you upset?" She smiles softly "I think I was jealous of her" a look of shock crosses his features "Hey Kate!" She turns to Aaron who looks exhausted, "im coming" Aaron looks between the pair before turning and walking back to Billy and Jay. Kate stands in silence, "forget i said anything" she smiles as she heads to meet up with the rest of the crew.
Zak frowns as he watches her leave, her words filling his head, on a constant repeat. I think I was jealous of her...Why would she be jealous of some random woman i spent a drunken night with?..
