I miss the summers and falls I spent in NYC

Everyone so different and diverse I didn't stick out, I couldn't

My eyes fluttered with possibilities

The loud sounds were almost faint

And yes, I romanticize it, I know

But nothing is perfect

Littering is a thing

Crime is happening

Angry souls roam

But in a way, it's my home.

My family is there

My godmother kisses me on the forehead and cooks her famous meals for us, and I almost always make a friend when I visit Brooklyn

I'm welcomed with open, warm, loving arms

I love NYC, and it loves me
