I walked up to the front door of a pale yellow house, standing on the porch. Even though it seemed small, it was rather big. It had two stories, plus a basement and rather large attic, in which the owners of the house were making a room for their daughter. Their daughter was my friend, Cora, who I was having a sleepover with tonight. Two of my other friends- Callie and Robin- would be here soon if they weren't already here. We were all limited to only a few extra items, since Cora's room was rather small and she doesn't want to fear the idea of someone leaving behind something she didn't remember them bringing. I had brought some gear for my favorite sport, baseball. I can only assume that Robin would bring some joke books and that Callie would bring as many snacks as possible.

I chuckled, realizing how predictable my friends are. I then knocked the door, smiling at Cora as she opened the door. "Hi, H-Hailey! Come o-on in!" She exclaimed, opening the door more as I walked inside the house calmly. The living room had two soft looking couches and a decent sized flat screen TV. There was a window next to the door above a couch, and I sighed, glad to be inside as I headed up the stairs and into Cora's bedroom. It had a pastel blue aesthetic, and posters of shells across the walls along with shells scattered across the shelves as decoration along with Cora's comfortable looking bed.

As I waited in the room on Cora's bed, I laid down and thought. Then I realized I never saw her attic, just knew that her parents didn't like anyone being up there for unknown reasons. As I thought, I saw Cora, Callie, and Robin walk in, talking as they did so. "I didn't know that you liked paranormal stuff, Cora! I would've expected that kind of thing to really scare you, to be honest!" She heard Robin exclaim, walking in the room with a bag next to Cora and Callie, Callie having a bag as well. Callie's seemed to be stuffed with more than the bag should be able to carry, though.

I got up and looked over at them, noticing the topic of the conversation and catching interest. "Do you guys like paranormal activity? 'Cause I love it to be honest!" I told them excitedly, being easily excited by paranormal or supernatural topics. I heard them giggle as they all nodded, resulting in a smile growing on my face.

Suddenly, I heard Cora speak. "T-That actually reminds me of s-something," she began. "When m-my family and I w-were cleaning the a-attic, I think I s-saw a strange book u-up there. I don't r-remember where it i-is, though. We c-can look for i-it if you guys w-want," she continued, Robin nodding. "Sounds fun! Let's get spoopy y'all!"

We all chuckled and headed up to where the ladder to the attic was. I climbed up first, my friends following, as we all began searching for a strange or creepy looking book. At first, the weirdest thing any of us found was this creepy painting of a clown that seemed like it's been burned fifty times for the probably five hundred years it existed based on how it looked. That is, until I came across this book in a dusty box. I took it out and wiped the cover off with my jacket sleeve and read the title. It was titled Games To Never Play. I studied the book more and noticed that it had a warning as a subtitle which read the following: WARNING: This book contains games that can result in death if done incorrectly. Play at your own risk. This must be the book, right?

"Hey guys, look at this shit," I called to them, the three of them looking over at me and heading in my direction. Cora seemed to be anxious at this point, probably because the attic got on her nerves. I could see why, though; it was a rather creepy attic as far as attics go. Once they all reached me, I held the book up so that they could read it. "Games To Never Play. WARNING: This book contains games that can result in death if done incorrectly. Play at your own risk," Robin read aloud. "Oh, sounds scary! We should try one of the games!" She commented.

Cora chuckled nervously before I heard her anxious response. "H-How about no th-thank you? I'd rather st-stay alive, thank you v-very much!"

I saw Robin raise an eyebrow at my other friend. "Don't tell me you actually believe all this mumbo jumbo?" She accused, me rolling my eyes. Honestly, I probably should have expected that Robin would react to the book this way. Then again, if I did, I would've just left the book there. I don't like to see any of my friends, especially Cora, get all anxious because of some book.

I stepped forward, looking at my friends before speaking. "I think we should try one of the games, but just to see if it's real. I don't want Cora to freak out over this book in case the games don't even work," I told them, the three of them nodding slightly as if they had agreed.

"Then it's decided," I continued. "So, what game are we gonna do first?"
