IT'S SO CRINGY. Using Japanese words like 'baka' 'daijoubu' 'Arigato' It's just...so FUCKING CRINGY.
Okay first, it makes your thing hard to read. It breaks the flow, the suspension of disbelief. It's weird to see Japanese words in an English page. It becomes really annoying to.
And of course....
Honorifics....
UGHHHH, THEY'RE THE WORST!
Look I know you want to be all cute and Japanese. BUT IT'S SO ANNOYING TO READ. Not to mention most people don't even know how to use honorifics correctly, but use 'em anyway!
Sometimes I'm fine with them, in small amounts (like in Secret Spider NEW) but otherwise, IT'S TERRIBLE!!!
SO BAD.
Trying to use Japanese Honorifics in an English book, aimed at English readers, just doesn't goddamn work. It doesn't make your writing 'cute' and certainly not 'Japanese' okay? It's annoying, cringy, inconsistent, doesn't make sense, unneeded, and breaks immersion.
