"Aro will want us incapacitated before he attacks. Jane and Alec will try and take me out first because I can anticipate their moves." Edward stated as we sat in the living room the next morning. On my left Elijah sat next to me and Rebekah sat on my right.

"Aro knows about Villanelle but he doesn't know about me." I stated, making myself known. The whole day so far I had kept quiet, trying to figure a way to take out my brother if need be.

"He will once he asks for the first witness." Freya stated leaning against the piano. "It'll be made quite clear that you're just as powerful as Villanelle and he'll want you two to be taken out together." I looked over at Villanelle who was seated next to Esme. We made eye contact and I broke it first, looking down at my hands.

"Too bad we don't all have your shield." Garrett stated trying to change the subject. I glanced at him and he smiled at me. I nodded in thanks to him.

"Doesn't help me fight, though." Bella sighed.

"No, but you could help the rest of us, if you could project it." Tanya stated.

"What do you mean?" Bella looked confused.

"Shield someone other than yourself." Elijah clarified for the vampire.

"Is that possible?" Bella asked looking shocked.

"Gifts can be developed. Over time." Carlisle replied nodding.

"At first, mine was just in my palms. Now I can radiate it all over my body." Kate said from next to Bella.

"How do you do it?" When Kate didn't reply, she took Kate's hand in hers a little too hard. "Tell me." Bella asked.

"Ow." Kate replied.

"Don't forget your strength there newborn." Klaus smirked and I rolled my eyes at him.

"You need to visualize it. See how it moves. What color it is. Now picture it expanding. Will it to go beyond you." Kate explained, I saw a shine of what looked to be Bella's shield before it disappeared. There was a small group of us outside with Bella and Kate; Elijah, Emmett, Garrett, Mika and I.

"I think she needs something to motivate her." Elijah smirked. We all seemed to look at Edward.

"No." Bella shook her head, Edward placed a hand on her arm.

"It's all right, I can take it." He replied.

"He says that now." Mika whispered to me. I laughed and weaves my arm with his, resting my head against his shoulder.

"Focus, Bella, or he's gonna be hurting." Emmett teases. Edward put his hand up ready to touch Kate's hand and Bella shook her head again.

"Edward, I'm not ready to do this yet." Bella started but Kate had already touched Edwards hand. "I'm sorry. I said that I wasn't ready."
