Shelby's POV

God dammit my head hurts.

Today we had an off-day, thank god. I woke up to a text from Michael: "Skype me when you get up please." Shit. What the hell did I do?

I get out my laptop and call him. His face shows up and he has a half smile. Not a good sign. I smile and wave, "Hey, what's up?" "What did you do last night that you were 'too tired' to talk on the phone with me? Honestly?" He looks so hurt. "I got wasted." I flat-out say. His eyebrows raise. "What? Why?" He asks. "Because that note really freaked me out, Michael. I'm so paranoid." I shake my head and sigh. "Shelby, the warped security knows not to let him in anymore. There's nothing to be afraid of. Just get through the rest of it and then you can go home." He smiles. I smile back, "Thank you. I gotta get ready so I'll talk to you later."

Michael's POV

I close out of skype and go to the living room. Calum is there playing video games. "Hey, you wanna go to lunch after I'm done with this level?" He asks, not taking his eyes off the screen. "Yeah, sure." I sit down on the couch and wait.

We decided to go to a cafe and sit outside since it was so nice. We eat our food and occasionally make small talk. Then I see him. The guy that has been torturing Shelby for years. The guy that had the nerve to hit her. I get up from my seat and jump over the fence that separates the cafe from the sidewalk. "Michael?" Calum calls after me. I ignore him and try to catch up to Kevin. "Kevin!" I yell at him. He turns around and his face drops. I get in his face and look down on him. I have a good 5 inches over him. "We need to have a little chat." He tries to back away but I push him against a building. "You had better stop harassing Shelby or I will gladly kick your ass." He laughs. "Well, then I'll just do the same thing you did to her." I punch him in the jaw and kick his stomach. He hunches over in pain so I kick him again. "Michael!" Calum pulls me away from Kevin and towards the car. Shit, paparazzi just got that. That's going to make nice headlines.
