----one year later----

My baby girl turns one year old today.

She's growing up so fast. She looks exactly like her mother now.

Same blonde hair, same dull blue eyes, same smile that makes you give in to everything she wants.

Sometimes it makes me so sad to look at her.

I walk over and kiss her head "bea?... Baby... Wake up.... You know what today is?... It's your birthday..." I smile and pick her up. She yawns and smiles "da-da...." I smile "hey baby... Today is your birthday! Do you know how old you are?..." I smile "show me how many fingers you are..." She looks at me confused for a minute before smiling, remembering what I've been trying to teach her for the past month. She holds up one finger and smiles. "Good girl! You are so smart bea... Just like your mommy.... Can you say mommy?...." I bite my lip. "Ma.... Ma-ma...." Bea smiles.

Tears form in my eyes "that's right... You are so smart bea...." I hug her and I hear a knock at the door. "Ooh... I bet that's auntie Christina...." I smile and take bea and open the door but my smile fades. It's not Christina.... It's Caleb.

"What are you doing here?..." I growl.

His eyes widen "is.... Is that... A baby?..."

I hold bea closer and she chews on my finger. "Yes... She is my baby...." I glare at him.

His jaw drops "wait... But... But Beatrice.... Beatrice never had a baby...."

A tear slips down my cheek "don't say that name.... You have no right to say her name.... And she was pregnant when she sacrificed herself to save your pathetic excuse of a life...."

I see hurt and confusion cross his face. I turn and walk back inside with bea, completely ignoring Caleb. "Alright bea.... It's almost time for your party..." I smile slightly and wipe my cheek. "Let's get ready, baby...." I walk over to her closet and get out the birthday dress that Christina picked out for her. I put it on her carefully and I change her diaper. I smile "there's my beautiful girl...." I kiss her head "Christina will kill me if I don't fix your hair.... Let's see...." I take her small comb and I brush her thin hair and put in a small pink clip to hold it out of her face.

I feel Caleb staring at me, but I don't bother to look up. Bea smiles up at me. "Da-da.... Da-da nose...." Bea pokes my nose and giggles. I smile "that's right... That's daddy's nose.... Such a smart baby...."

I smile and set her down on the ground and she toddles over to Caleb and grabs onto his leg. I tense up and watch nervously.

Caleb's eyes widen and he has no clue what to do. "Um.... H-hi... I'm Caleb... Nice to meet you...." He says stiffly.

I roll my eyes and pick her up "she's not an adult Caleb.... She's just a baby...." I kiss her head "hey bea... You want some... Cake?..." I smile and her eyes light up and she smiles "nummy! Nummy!" I chuckle "it is yummy... " I kiss her fingers and I hear a knock at the door. "You wanna get the door bea?..." I smirk and walk with her to the door. She helps me open it and I see Evelyn standing there. "Hey mom...." I force a smile as she hugs me. Bea starts wiggling. "Gamma! Gamma!" Bea squeals. 'Gamma' is what bea has started calling Evelyn because she can't say 'grandma'

"Hi bea-bea...." Evelyn smiles "how's my big girl?.... Are you good?... Yeah?... Good..." Evelyn holds her hand and bea jumps out of my arms and into Evelyn's.

Evelyn smiles but then she spots Caleb "what are you doing here?..." She glares at him.

"I'm... I--" I cut him off "he was just leaving...." I glare at him. "No I wasn't! She's my niece.... And I deserve to at least see her! You aren't the only one who misses Beatrice you know!"

My eyes water and I grab the front of his shirt "you have no right to miss her.... It's your fault that she's gone.... Your fault that she can't see her daughter growing up...."

He let's tears fall "I didn't want her to go for me!"

"But you didn't stop it!" I yell. Bea starts to cry and I shove Caleb and say quietly "get out of my house...." I turn back and take bea and I rock her back and forth.

I will never forgive him. Never.
