(UnEDITED CHAPTER]*
Atlinski had agreed to let me decide whether or not Calvin could be my partner. I think he trusted me with this decision because he knew just how picky I was. I mean, sure, Calvin could play, and amazingly, but he had a mouth that ran miles. That's more of a me problem, though. I'll just have to see.
Class had ended and I was on my way to the library when someone bumped my shoulder coming from behind me. I turned around with narrowed eyes and furrowed eyebrows. Calvin raised his hands up in surrender.
"Don't attack." He said, playfully.
My anger simmered quickly and I shook my head.
"Calvin, you should really be careful. I've been here for too long to not punch you in the face." I shrugged.
"Noted. Where ya headed?"
"Library."
"Why?"
"Study."
"For what?"
"Calvin."
"What?"
"Your questions."
"What about them?"
I gave him a look. "Stop asking them."
He sighed. "Fine."
"Thank you."
I pushed through the library doors and Calvin was still following me. "Hey, Ms. Tori." I greeted the librarian. She waved back. I would come in here regularly if I wasn't ready for a test to read a book and she would let me stay, even give me a pass. She also knew that my study hall consisted of 99% sleep and 1% touching the textbook I was supposed to be studying from.
I went to my usual seat that I normally sat at alone, but was with company this time. I sat down and pulled out my math textbook. I open up the book, breathe deeply, and put my head down.
Calvin walks around the table to stand in front of me and I peek through one eye.
"Yes?"
"Studying?"
"Yep. Same time everyday."
He laughed softly and shook his head. He took a seat facing me. I close my eyes again but I can feel his eyes on me. Without opening my eyes, I say, "aren't you supposed to be in class?"
"Lunch period."
"Well, shouldn't you be eating?"
"I ate already. Not hungry."
His stomach let out a soft growl that seemed to echo throughout the silent library. My eyebrows shot up and I peek through an eye again. He looks away as if veering my attention elsewhere. "Two."
"Two what?"
"Lies." I prop my head up with my hands.
He looked confused but I waved it off. As much as I hated being interrupted from my naps, I didn't feel at rest knowing he was starving. I let out a heavy sigh mentally. I get up, grab my bag, and walk away. "Come on." I say.
"Where are you going now?"
"Lunch."
"Why?"
"To strip."
More confusion on his face, but he followed anyways. I walk between the tables with the clutters of Lakewood high students. I heard Calvin say something but he was drowned out by the chatter of the lunchroom. I was coming close to the lunch line when I notice the twins to the left. I walk up to Evan and mess with his black curls.
