After just finishing up my last semester of university and starting my new teaching job in September, I haven't had much time to talk to anyone other than four year olds, nevertheless go out and do anything fun for myself.
I never imagined being a kindergarden teacher could be this tiring.
I mean, it's kindergarden. They barley know how to talk, how are they this destructive?
When Harry comes knocking at my door and asks if I want to go with him and all his mates pumpkin picking, I don't even have to think before I'm screaming at him YES, YES PLEASE! and honestly, he did look a little concerned for my mental health, as am I, but I guess everyone's gonna have to get used to it. I signed up for this job for the rest of my life, I even quit my old one at Six Strings.
(which is good because I'm a 24 year old woman and I guess it's time for me to have a real job)
Harry picks a Saturday in October for everyone to meet up at an pumpkin farm and have us all hang out together. He tells me I can bring Charlie and that he's looking forward to seeing him again, though I'm sure he's still a bit scared since the last time all three of us hung out.
----------
Harry knocks on the door to my flat that Saturday wearing a brilliant bright orange jumper and a green beanie. Along with his typical black skinny jeans, it was safe to safe he looked like a human sized pumpkin. A cute one though.
He stands in between Charlie and I as we walk into the lift, "Okay, just as a warning, Louis is bringing his heavily pregnant wife, so be extra nice to her. Also Zayn and Perrie and their little babes are coming. Probably also a few other people. Maybe Grimmy for you, Charlie." He says to Charlie with a wink.
Harry places his hand on my back, guiding me to his car which makes a smile break out on my face and I can hear Charlie snickering behind us.
I get in the passengers seat and Harry gets in the driver side while Charlie climbs in the back.
"Did you know, I like, love pregnant women. I think they're like my spirit animal or something. They're just amazing. I have some emotional connection with them." Charlie says.
"I like pregnant women too." Harry adds. "They're sick."
"I like kangaroos." I say, expecting it to flow right in with the conversation, but Charlie and Harry look at me as if I had two heads.
"'Cause, you know, they have that pouch on their belly, so they can like hold their babies there. Or maybe a snack."
Har nods in agreement, pulling onto the road and turning on some loud music.
----------
The minute we pull up to the pumpkin patch (10 minutes late because Harry took us on a detour through the park) Charlie is out of the car and sprinting towards the crowd of people standing by the entrance. Specifically to the big-bellied Eleanor standing next to a handsome Grimmy. This is heaven for him, probably.
Harry links his hand with mine when we get out of the car, obviously feeling quite daring today, and my heart leaps out of my chest. Honestly, I can't breathe, my heart is beating so fast I feel as if I might faint and because of that, my hand starts to sweat, making me internally die a bit because he's bot going to want to hold my hand when it's all sweaty, you know?
"Is this okay?" He asks.
And oh God, did he even have to ask? Can't he see me swooning?
"Yes. Yeah." I nod quickly and divert my attention back to the crowd we're approaching, hoping he can't see how heated and nervous my face is getting.
