There was one time when I was around 10 and a magician came to my primary school. Other than being totally amazed with his cool tricks, I fell in love with the inking and colors on his arms. Of course, being a ten year old, it did look a bit scary and intimating, but I was more focused on the fact that people could draw things on their arms like that. And it was permanent (!).

I knew that in most movies, the bad guy or villain would usually have tattoos and dark clothes and so for most kids, it was typical to associate tattoos with bad people and scary things, and I think for me it was just the fact that the first time I saw tattoos in real life, it was on this magician that was so cool and nice and just frankly, magical, and it made my 10 year old brain think wow, tattoos are so cool, I wanna get some! and that day I kind of made myself an internal promise that one day I'd get a tattoo and look as cool as that man.

After that it was just a downward spiral into an obsession over different kinds of quirky tattoos and the way sleeves look on muscular arms and especially the way white ink looks on certain skin tones...

From that day I've always been obsessed with tattoos and I've just being counting down the days until I was old enough and had enough money, to get one myself. Although, life kind of got in the way, considering I don't have much money, I work at a music shop, and I'm too much of a wimp to go by myself to a parlor.

"What do you mean you're afraid to go to a tattoo parlor? What's scary about a tattoo parlor?"

"I just am. At least to go alone, it kind of just creeps me out. . ."

Harry pauses for a brief moment before spinning around from the oven to face me, "I can go with you!"

"But, I don't even have an idea of what I want to get tattooed yet. . ."

"It's fine, that's the easy part. I can help you."

"How are you gonna help me?"

Harry holds a spoon out for me to taste test the stir-fry he's making, and I take it past my lips.

"I can design a tattoo for you! I designed and drew all of my tattoo's, I'll have you know. I could definitely be a tattoo artist."

"Well, do you know any good tattoo parlors around here?"

"Me mate Zayn--you remember Zayn, right?"

I nod.

"Yeah, well he's a tattoo artist. Has his own shop up in Chichester. That's where I always go to get my ink done. I'm sure he'll give it to you at a discount as well."

I nod again. Harry's managing to make all these pieces fall into place, and also making it really hard for me to say no to him.

"We can pop out there whenever, you know? No pressure. Did you like the stir-fry?"

I give him a smile, "Yeah, it was really, really good. Where'd you learn to cook?"

"Umm, I'm not sure, my family has always been into baking and cooking. We actually own a bakery up in Cheshire where my mum works, I had to work there for a long time, so that's where I got most of my skills."

"Aww, Harry! You worked in a bakery?"

He flushes, "Don't."

"That's so cute, teenage Harry working in a bakery!"

"I wasn't cute. I was sexy. A sexy baker in my gorgeous apron and hair net."

I burst out laughing, "You had to wear a hair net?!"
