Last night was the last straw I had with my landlord.
I need to find another property for my bar.
I already work four jobs just to pay for the rent of the space.
The money my grandad gave me didn't go far in the beginning, but my determination I have for this place will.
For him.
--
I took my phone out of my pocket, calling the only person I could rant too.
Luke.
An online friend I had been speaking to for three years over social media.
Within the three times he answered, his voice cheery and sweet. That always was a good sign
"Hey Cal, what's up?". It sounded like he had been pacing in that moment.
"Nothing-Lu. Just need to rant..." I admit.
We stayed on the phone for a couple hours, till Luke said he needed to go,I sigh, putting my phone down before leaning against the bar, looking up at the door as Alex and Jack walk in ready to start work.
It was usually slow on Thursday nights so little effort was put in,on making the bar appear full-er.
"-Hey man" Jack smiles, as Alex waves shyly before kissing Jack's cheek and walking into the back.
"Hey Jack"I sigh leaning onto the bar stand with my palms on my face. Letting a shreek fill the empty silence.
"What's up? You look upset..." jack instantly suggests. And his hunch was right. I was upset. No. Not upset.
Stressed.
I need some financial support A-sap.
It took me a while to admit that I was basically going broke from renting this space and the landlord wasn't cutting me some slack with missing two months worth of rent money.
Jack listened. Thoughtfully.
Agreeing with my every word as I described the state I was in.
He was never a yes man. He always tried to see the bigger picture but tonight he seemed to be extremely honest.
"Why don't we just close for the night."
"-I can't..." I barely was able to utter.
