I stopped in my tracks and my breath hitched like I was a teenager again.

The man that I had been trying to erase from my memory for four years was standing in front of me. He looked better than ever. He was shirtless and dripping sweat. His breathing was heavy and I could tell he'd been running this trail until he saw me.

"Noah?" I asked, with a small smile playing at mt lips.

"Wow." He said, walking closer to me. "It's been awhile, how are you?" He asked, smiling.

"I've been good, and yourself?" I asked.

He nodded, "Yeah, super good. I'd hug you but I'm soaked." He laughed, refrencing his sweat.

I laughed. "No you're good."

"Oh, and Happy birthday." He said, with a smile.

"Yea, thank you." I looked at my feet, shyly. "I feel like a grown up now." I laughed.

"Oh yeah, I did too when I turned 22 last month." He nodded.

"Yeah, its crazy." I nodded. "We're full on adults now."

"Yea, real crazy, for sure." He laughed.

"So where are you working at?" I asked.

"I've actually dabbled in acting." He shrugged, shyly.

I already knew this, of course. He had been on The Fosters pretty soon after we broke up and dropped out of college from what I heard. Now, I saw that he had a couple of Netflix movies about to come out.

However, I didn't want to seem like I was keeping close tabs on him, so I kept all of this knowledge to myself.

"Oh right! You're doing The Fosters, right?" I asked, with a wide smile.

He nodded with his infamous grin. "Yeah, thats me." He laughed.

"That's amazing." I smiled at him. "Do you love it?" I asked.

"Yeah, I really do. Its chaotic but it makes me happy." He smiled.

"Thats amazing, I'm really happy for you." I smiled up at him.

The way he started to glow when he talked about acting made every inch of my being over the moon for him. He really did look so happy.

"What about you?" He asked, playfully hitting my arm. "You're helping kids?" He asked.

I decided to refrain from asking how he knew that and I just went on.

"Yeah, I'm counseling kids who were in bad situations at home or who have parents that are addicted to drugs, stuff like that." I nodded. "I feel so bad for them, I just wanna take every single one home with me." I laughed.
