Two years later...
I woke up to the sound of screaming. I rolled over in my leafy bed. I hoped one of my sisters or Cloudy wasn't trying to prank me again. I got up, stretched my wings, and climbed up the tree. I had just gotten up to the second branch when I heard the screaming again. It sounded like someone was saying, "Help! He's gone missing!" I decided to go investigate what was going on. I buzzed my tiny wings and flew off the branch.
Giant birds flew overhead, so I tried to stay low where they couldn't see me. The sound was coming from a pale green dragon underneath a spotted mushroom. I flew down to ask her what was wrong.
"He's missing," she said again. "My brother."
"Oh," I replied. "That's weird."
"He was just here last night," she continued, "but now I can't find him."
"Well," I asked, "where did you see him last?"
"He was just going exploring in a cave with a group of other dragons when he disappeared," she said.
"Was he the only dragon that went missing?" I questioned.
"No," she replied. "About three others disappeared as well. The ones that did come back reported to have seen red eyes staring at them."
"Well, that's interesting. Bye!" I flew off to a pool of water.
I heard of several more dragons going missing throughout the day. Nearly all of the dragons I talked to said that the dragons who went missing were in a cave at the time. I heard another cry for help, but something about this voice sounded familiar.
I better go see what's wrong, I thought. Wait a minute. That voice is Cloudy's.
