'Perrie, dear!! Dinner!' Aunt Clarissa yells from downstairs. I don't respond. I never do.
I drag myself downstairs. One more night, Perrie, I tell myself.
'Ah, there you are. Because tomorrow it's you're birthday, you can choose what we're gonna eat. Tomorrow.' She tells me, with her high pitched voice.
'Okay.' I answer. .
This is how it goes every year. Dinner's always the same. Or potatoes with chicken, or potatoes with chicken. It's always the same. Only on my birthday I may choose. I always choose lasagna. But that's because I don't know any other food.
I silently eat my chicken. I feel lightly guilty, because I'm leaving her forever. I know she's mean to me sometimes, but she's also trying to be nice. And she cares for me. I mean, the chicken wasn't that bad in the beginning, but now, after almost 18 years (Not that I ate it my whole life, but you know what I mean) it tastes not that delicious anymore.
'So Perrie. After dinner you wash the dishes and then you'll go to bed. Okay?' She asks, even though it's not a question.
'You don't have to mention it every night.' I say, a tint of annoyance in my voice. She always tells me to do this. It's always the same routine. After dinner, she goes to sleep and I wash the dishes, clean the table and then I'll go sleep too. Not this time, I think.
Aunt Clarissa looks at me with a angry expression on her face.
'But sure. I'll do it.' I try to get her to her normal self again. She gives me a small nod and leaves the room.
When I'm ready with cleaning I head upstairs. I already packed my backpack and now it's time to leave.
~~~~~~~
My feet are killing me. From my window, it didn't looked that far to the mountains.
I escaped out of that window, because I wanna be free. I took some money from Clarissa and even got a backpack. The only problem is that I never walked any further then up and down a couple of stairs.
Today I want to buy new clothes. New life, new clothes, I guess. Well, the other reason is because the dress I wear now, isn't comfortable at all. Every dress Clarissa wants me to wear is uncomfortable. The problem is, I don't know what people wear normally. Yes, I saw a few people walking down the street, but I didn't really pay attention to them.
I walk in a store and look at the people inside. Not much people. I look at a clock inside the store. 9.00 am. Oh, yea, it's early. I walk past the clothing racks. Uhg, nothing I like.
Then I see a nice outfit. (A/N The outfit she wears first on her birthday. I put it on the side) I buy it and walk out the store. I actually don't want to look for more clothes. It's boring.
Now I only have to find a place where I can change and I can actually leave this city and head to the mountains.
When I'm finally dressed, I walk a bit through the streets of the city. I can't decide which direction I should take. It had been so much easier if there was just one direction, but no, there have to be more. And I don't know any of them. I'm deep in my thoughts, when bump into a tall person.
'Watch where you going.' he snaps.
'Oh, I'm sorry! Uhm, no I mean, watch where you going!' I try to sound just as mean as he did.
'Just, move out the way.' he says. I'm ready to move out the way, walk away and forget it, but something catches my eye. He's hiding something under his sweater.
'What do you have there?' I ask, raising my eyebrow.
'Nothing, move out the way, I said.' He growls.
'Not until you help me to get there.' I say, pointing to the mountains.
'No way. I'm not gonna help someone like you.' He spats.
'Oh, I see.. You want me to tell the police that you're a thief!' I say, trying to get him scared.
'Who says I'm stealing?' He asks nonchalantly.
'Oh come on! Even a dog can see that. It's pretty obvious.' I tell him. He sighs.
'I'll only lead you to the end of the city.' He tells me.
'That's enough.' I say.
(So, short chapter, but I have to start sometime. What do you guys think?? Plz tell me!! ily<33)
