Chapter 1: Removed & Recieved

I woke up in my tiny chambers again, the sun was just starting to rise over the gold city of Asgard. My chestnut hair knotted from sleeping, I got out of my twin bed and started my daily morning routine. Taking a quick bath, brushing my unruly, curly hair and changing into my work attire. The fawn brown, three-quarter sleeve dress slid nicely over my body, like it did everyday.

My name is Elizabeth and I work as a chambermaid in the House of Odin. I've worked here for the past 6 years, and I am work in service for Tyr, the god of war. Tyr is reckless and is very hard for me to work with. He has slapped me twice and kicked me once, saying that I was disobedient when I had done everything he ask.

A loud knock came upon the door of my chambers.

"Come in." I said and door swung open, revealing one of the guardsmen.

"I have come to tell you, that you have been removed from service of Lord Tyr." He spoke, almost sounding bored.

"What? But why?" I exclaimed.

"He said he did not want you serving him and requested a new servant." The guardsman added. My fingers knotted in my hair, frustrated. Without working, I don't get paid. If I don't get paid, I get kicked out of palace.

"But I do have other news for you, miss." He said, noticing my panic and frustrated state.

"Queen Frigga has taken note of this, and she has requested your presence. She will send one of her maids to fetch you."

My jaw dropped, I can't believe with was happening. I could be working for the queen! Better working for Tyr.

"Thank you. That is amazing news, thank Odin." I said.

The guardsman nodded, smiled and then left me. I basically skipped around my chambers. The was the best day. Another knock came on the door and before I could answer and Frigga's maid walked in.

"Frigga wishes your presence." She said.

I followed her out, she was a tiny with red hair.

"I'm Caitlin." She said and she lead me to the Queen's chambers.

"I'm Elizabeth." I replied.

"Your name is pretty, and you nice so why would Lord Tyr fire someone like you?" Caitlin said.

"I don't know, he's not exactly the friendliest." I sighed.

"Oh, I will take note if I get switched." She spoke, her voice shocked at my answer.

Once we reached the chamber door, Caitlin opened them and walked in, I followed. The queen sat the lounge chairs, in a gold dress and her long gold locks laid on her back. Two other chambermaids were near her, braiding each other's hair. Frigga looked up at us, Caitlin and I curtsied.

"My Queen." I said.

"Oh no need of that, dear." Frigga chuckled, beckoning us to sit.

"So you are the one Lord Tyr got rid of?" She asked me as I sat on a chair. Caitlin joined the other maids, braiding hair. I nodded.
