Chapter 3: The Royal Gardens

I was pressed against hard chest and a pair of arms were locked around my body. It was one of situation where you need to do something but want to stay. I somehow manage to pry one of Loki's arms off and slip out of the bed.

"Where are going, my morning dove?" Loki asked groggily, rolling onto his back. One green eye cracked open to see me.

"To get breakfast, Loki." I said, slipping my dress on.

"Mmm." He happily moaned. "When you return, could you run a bath?"

"Of course, Loki." I smiled and left his chambers to the kitchens. It was quiet, in the place this morning and the golden rays of sun streaked through the pillars.

In the kitchens, Loki's meal was covered up and was still hot. The smell made my stomach growl. The one problem almost every maid and servant dealt with. If we waned to eat, we had do on our own time when we were not working. The last I ate was yesterday, a brief lunch.

I put my hunger aside and brought the meal back to Loki.

"Loki?" I called out, pushing the heavy door open with shoulder. "Where do want your breakfast?"

"On the table will be fine, my little dove." Loki said, his voice coming from his study. He said that nickname again for me.

It was the same thing. Loki rarely said my actual name. I should probably ask him about that. After setting up his meal, I went to run a bath for him. Filling the huge, white marble tub with hot water and putting spices in, I hunted for towels but had no avail.

I came out of the bathroom, and went to the storage closet. Loki sat at the table, his hair was a tousled, and watched. I shut my eyes briefly, putting hunger out of my mind. Quickly, I grabbed 3 towels and was about to head back to bathroom when Loki stopped me.

"Did you eat this morning, my little dove?" Loki asked. Dammit, I thought. I slowly turned around to face him. He watched me, carefully.

"No." I replied, quietly. Loki sighed.

"In the bathroom." He said, grabbing one of covered platters.

I hurried in there, shutting off the taps when the bath was full. Loki followed me, he put a stool near the tub and pointed at it.

"Sit." He commanded, and I sat on the wooden stool, my head down.

Loki knelt down to my height, and titled my chin up.

"Now, for now on, you are going to be eating with me and getting a decent meal." Loki stated.

"But-" I started object.

"No buts and I do not give a damn about those puny rules for maids." He snapped. Loki placed the small tray on my lap and gave me a quick kiss on my cheek before undressing himself.

I didn't look up, giving him somewhat privacy. Lifting lid, I peered curiously at the food beneath it. An omelet, a type of meat of I didn't know and some fruit. I ate quietly, while Loki bathed. His head resting on the edge, his hair flowing behind him. Just soaking in the bubbly goodness.

I finished the meal and left the bathroom, to put back the dishes to kitchen and clean. Loki came out of bathroom, dressed and ready. The bed was made and I deciding what I needed to do.

"Well since you are done with your chores, you can come with me." Loki said, walking to the door. I caught up to me, he smiled then went serious when he turned to the guard posed outside the chamber doors.

"No one is aloud to be in my chambers until I return." Loki said, his voice commanding. The prince in him

"Yes, my lord." The guard said.

Loki turned back to me, offering me his arm.

"Shall we?"

I smiled and took his arm, letting him lead me down the hallways.

"Where we going?" I asked as he lead me to the back of palace.

"The Royal Gardens." He replied simply.

"I am not aloud to be in there." I said, glancing nervously at the well-taken, gardens.

"You are, if you are with your Prince and serving him." Loki smirked, pulling me with him. Roses of all colours, violets, lilies and many others were in groomed patches. We walked along the cobblestone pathway to the giant willow trees.

Giggling was heard behind the near tree, Loki and I were getting to. Caitlin and Lin, were sitting there. They shut their mouths when they saw Loki.

"Where is my mother?" He said, a bit snappy.

The girls pointed where Frigga was. The Queen sat on the grass, the train of her light green dress spread out on the lush green grass.

"Hello, mother."

"Ah, my son. What a lovely surpise, I thought you would be with your brother and father today. Oh and you brought, Elizabeth." Frigga said, ushering us to sit.

I sat on my side, my legs folded beside me as Loki stretched his legs out. As Frigga and Loki talked, I admired the scenery.

"Elizabeth." Caitlin waved me over. I looked over at her, shaking my head.

"Sorry, can't." I mouthed.

Lin pouted, before talking to Caitlin. Loki nudged me, bringing my focus back.

"I am sorry, but what's going on." I said, a bit dazed. Frigga chuckled at me.

"I was asking you, how has it been working for Loki." She replied, smiling.

"Very good, I really enjoy it." I said, Loki smiled. Frigga stood up, beckoning her maids as well.

"I should be going now, enjoy the gardens." She left Loki and I by ourselves. Caitlin and Lin hurried after the Queen and it was finally quiet.

"Did you really mean that, what you said?" Loki asked, fiddling with a piece of grass he had plucked.

"Yes, I did, Loki. Why wouldn't I? In all of my time of working in the palace, no one has ever been this nice to me as much as you have." I explained. Loki looked at me with happiness in his green eyes. He reached over, pulled me to him.

Kissing my forehead, Loki held me close.

"You have been amazing to me, my little dove." Loki said. I laid on his lap, my eyes shut as the sun shined down through the trees. Loki twisted a lock of my hair around his fingers.

I got up, moving closer to the flowers and long grass. With four strands of grass and a couple flowers, I started to braid them. Soon enough, I had a flower and grass crown. Loki chuckled at my creation, he was sitting against now, the big roots were used as a foot rest. I crawled over, I laid down beside him, my head against his knees.

"Shall we go back?" He asked, shifting his legs.

"Do we have too?" I said, enjoying bathing in the sunlight.

"We could go the library." Loki replied.

My eyes opened. The library did it, I loved reading.

"I will take that as a yes then." Loki chuckled, bringing me to feet and he took me back inside.
