The Unseen refused to speak after that. Concluding that you weren't going to get any more information out of it for the time being, you kept it securely tied to a tree, with a few humans taking shifts watching it (insofar as that was possible) while you lay down to get some sleep. Holly, despite not needing to sleep, did the same, nominally because she was exhausted but realistically because she had nothing else to do. She was lying on the ground facing the opposite way from you, with your heads nearly touching.

"Holly?" you asked with your eyes shut.

"Yes (Y/N)?"

"Are we friends?"

"Though it pains me that I've sunken to such a level, yes, I'm afraid we are."

"Good," you sighed happily, falling asleep.

Your dream that (simulated) night was an unsettling one. You were surrounded by the charred remains of what had seemingly been a jungle, and were standing at the edge of a large crater in the clearing. In the centre of the pit was a single tree, seemingly the only one still living. It was bare of leaves, and had bark of an unnatural red hue. It was only slightly taller than you were, and only about as wide, but it was clearly not a young tree, as its bark was thick and ridged, and its every feature was gnarled, with roots which stretched to the edges of the crater. And you found yourself horribly afraid whenever you looked at it, as though it was looking back with unseen eyes, as though those eyes it didn't even have burned with the fires of a hell beyond human imagination. You tried to step back from the edge, but instead found yourself stepping forward, slipping on the loose rocks and soil and sliding down towards that awful tree. You clawed at the dirt, but couldn't stop yourself until you felt your feet hit something. You scrambled back immediately, too terrified of the notion that you had just touched that tree to contemplate it. You stared up at it from where you lay sprawled on your back, your heart pounding in your ears. Only... that wasn't the sound of your heart. It was coming from the tree which radiated evil to such nauseating effect. Then you noticed that there was the sound of a second heartbeat coming from it. And a third. Something touched your back, and you held your breath as a root grew around your torso, then reached up to touch your temple. Then the tree spoke to you in your mind.

"You were a fool, child, to think you were alone. You are not the last... but I am."

You jolted awake, breathing heavily, your heart racing. You turned yourself around and cuddled up to Holly, who put an arm around you. Feeling much safer in the presence of the big, soft gem, you soon went back to sleep.

You woke in the morning to find an amethyst prodding you with a stick.

"Hey, c'mon you guys, get up! Blue Diamond's waiting!"

"Yes!" you whispered excitedly to yourself. "Do you think you could help us move our 'guest?' I believe Our Diamond will be very interested to see it."

"Yeah, sure. I still can't believe you caught one!"

"I still can't believe you were telling the truth about them!" Holly replied.

The three of you went to meet Blue Diamond, escorting the captive Unseen. You finally made it to the room in which you had first arrived, and there she was, smiling down at you. Your eyes lit up when you saw her.

"Blue!" You started to run towards her, and she bent down ready to lift you up. But then she looked behind you and stood back up, the smile disappearing from her face.

"(Y/N)... what is that?"

"It's exactly what it doesn't look like, and it may be our best source of information."

"But how did you..."

"It's Holly who deserves the credit. The zoo was infested with Unseen, but she ejected all of them into space."
